While this isn't the cheapest unit on the block it does provide a simple one-stop solution off the shelf. The included soundcard and USB connection should appeal to businesses or users who don't own a soundcard and the overall unit is good enough for business or gaming applications. If you've just splashed out on a new sound card, the DSP 500s are not for you, since the USB connection negates the need for one. But if you're using on-board sound or have an older soundcard, this is a surprisingly good headset, if a little expensive. Read more
Overall, based on performance Hardware Fusion would rate this product towards the higher end of the market, although its price somewhat brings it down. I have had this product for over a year now and I love it. I bought this headset to chat with friends as we play our favorite online game. I have used the DSP-500 with Yahoo chat, Team Speak 2 and Ventrilo. The sound quality is unbelievable and I have had no complaints about my voice quality when chatting. I purchased these for $50.00 , primarily to be used for speech recognition. The fixed mic and the built in sound card make the speech recognition software easier to use. Overall for speech and gaming I would buy again. Read more
