great for music, horrible for phone calls.

lilstew2004, Ebay
27 April 2013
  • Summary: Headphones are great, they have an amazing reach if there is no metal obstructions in the way. the only gripe I have and is why I gave this 3 stars is because when you are on a phone call and talking you can hear yourself talking in the headphones...

Good, with "buts"...

Dan H., Newegg
28 April 2011
  • Summary: The range thing is odd. Close to the body it drops like mad but when I walk 20+ feet away I have a good connection unless my head is in the LOS between the phone and headset. Maybe this is symptomatic of Bluetooth in general. Either way, it's a bit annoying when the music cuts out constantly.
  • Pros: - Sound quality is nice. - Bass boost actually works! - High maximum volume. - Seems to pick up voice well (no complaints from the other end of the call). Wind does affect the mic, though. - Flexible cord makes for easy storage. - Good long range over reasonably open air. I had it connected from ...
  • Cons: - For my head and ears, the fit is so-so. Compared with plain ear buds, I always notice that they're on my head. With ear buds, I often didn't notice I was wearing them. I wish the loops were somewhat flexible for a better fit - Sometimes doesn't sync to both the phone and general audio features ...

Backbeat Headphones

funngames1, Ebay
7 February 2011
  • Summary: The sound quality for people hearing you I was told is "Tinny". I c ould hear them fine, but they could not hear me as good as my Jawbone. Your collar moves the headphones around your neck and so it is difficult to keep them in place. Their OK, for the price I guess, but I would look elsewhere....

They work sorta

Daniel G., Newegg
20 December 2010
  • Summary: It has lots of good features that I can't use for some reason. I am not sure if it's my drivers or what. I am using the headphones on my computer, an M11X AlienWare Win7 64bit machine. I am also using a usb dongle.
  • Pros: The Pair quickly and have a long battery life. When they work correctly their great.
  • Cons: Every time I try to connect them to my PC only the Mono audio seems to work. Only after re-pairing them does the stereo sound work. I am not what's going on, but this is a very annoying issue for me. It also starts to hurt your ears after a while. I can't get advanced features to work, but might ...

Almost, but not quite

Emily P., Newegg
19 July 2010
  • Summary: These didn't fit me completely right either... they wouldn't stay seated in my ear. However, like anything else, everyone's ears are shaped different so I won't knock this as a con.
  • Pros: Great audio quality, especially compared to other bluetooth headsets that are just downright awful. Don't plug up your ears so you won't have a Hellen Keller moment at work.
  • Cons: BUGGY. I thought I could get past this because when they work, they're wonderful. But aside from the infamous battery short mentioned by other reviewers, the headset cuts out, and also switches to some sort of super low bandwidth mode the first time it connects which basically makes audio sound l...

Headset sound quality

182428406@deleted, Ebay
7 July 2010
  • Summary: The comfort level of how the headset sits on your ears was a little less than desirable. Although the quality of music was fine, when using the bluetooth for conversations, the quality of the sound was somewhat distorted and less that desirable. I don't use it anymore.

Depends on use

Paul J., Newegg
18 March 2010
  • Summary: For everyday use i would recommend, for workouts could have an issue with moisture. Will see how Plantronics customer service is.
  • Pros: Compact, Easily connected to phone. Sound quality as a stereo headset and phone headset was excellent. For everyday use as a phone headset would definetly recommend.
  • Cons: I purchased for use in the gym even after reading reviews on other sites, i would clean and dry off after each workout, its 2 months and they quit working, Tried resetting and no luck just contacted Plantronics, will see how that goes. Its possible it is a battery issue as after charging and lett...

Lost gel earpiece, can't find a replacement.

Anonymous, Newegg
6 October 2009
  • Summary: Find yourself some kind of case to keep them in, and don't forget to use it when you aren't listening. Otherwise, you will lose the headphones or end up with missing parts. They get 3 flaming eggs because of the lack of extra ear gels, and because it appears that they can't be more than 18 inches...
  • Pros: Nice battery life, and the talk radio podcasts and shoegazing mp3's that I play through them sound fantastic. I don't have any trouble hearing the details, but I can still hear traffic with no trouble when I'm commuting on the 10-speed.
  • Cons: I find that they aren't much good unless I'm wearing a shirt with a pocket for my phone--the dropouts when my Blackberry is in my pants pocket are intolerable. And no case for this price is a shame, especially when you can't just leave them dangling around your neck, even sitting at a desk, witho...
