Excerpt: This is the second headset I've bought in the last 6 months that has snapped on me. When trying to spread headset apart to get it off my head the extending arm breaks. have to duct tape it. Great sound but come on Plantronics - my head isn't that fat.
Excerpt: Bought the Audio 655 to use with Skype, Voip, etc. The problem is that while everything "works", you cannot hear your own voice in the headset. You sort of hear your own voice outside of the headset and muted by the headset. I emailed Plantronics about the problem and this is the response "I'm sorry to hear you are having issues with your .Audio 655. The feature where you hear yourself talk while speaking is called sidetone. The headset doesn't provide it.
Summary: After having the left channel go out on 2 similarly priced Logitech sets in under 5 months each, I was looking for somethign not them. Having worked in call centers for years, Plantronics has been a brand name in my head for 15+ years and I'm well exposed to their products. I am now working from home, and needed a replacemnt headset that wasn't going to cost me an arm and a leg, my requirements were stereo, usb and in-line controlls, this was the cheapest Plantroncis...
Pros: Deep (if not always acurate or undistorted) Bass Cost effective Great controll placement
Cons: subject to distortion at high volume, hot on the ear, but what Circumaural headset isn't
Summary: Despite the random sound distortions they are an ok headset, but if I go back and buy a different headset I would.
Pros: Very confertable even after a few hours of wearing them. Nice range of sound music and voice volume controll on the head set is useful at times it takes a long time to register that the button has been pressed long durable cord Plug n' Play even in linux
Cons: low sounds like foot steps, dialog in movies, and sometimes speech get distorted causing a high pitched sequel and popping which destroys immersion in games or movies. Tried in multiple OS including Ubuntu, openSuSe, Windows 7 and 8.1 and OSX and the same problem arises. It isn't all the time but it happens enough that I end up switching headphones.
Excerpt: I have been using this headset to do remote presentations, record static presentations and for dictation to Dragon. This set works exceptionally well. The controls are easy to use. Set up was painless because there was nothing to do except to plug them into the computer. I will be using these more and more over time.
Excerpt: Very comfortable fit for my small head! I found moving the mic up to mute to be extremely convenient. I used this as a webinar trainer for 1 year and loved it. Occasionally I did have complaints about the sound quality of my voice, but its difficult to say if that is due to this product or an internet connection. After a year, I was unable to connect my headset, but this is likely my fault for pulling on the wiring too harshly.
Pros: value, Features, Easy to Use, Design, Comfortable
Summary: Overall a good headset. Microphone works well as well as the headphones. But I do wish I could've tried these on before the purchase because I have a rather large head size and it gets a bit uncomfortable after 2-3 hours of use.
