  • Pros: The microphone quality is above average. I've been told multiple times that I sound extremely clear when using it. The sound is alright. Not as outstanding as the mic, but not terrible.
  • Cons: Not* good for extended use whatsoever. Just as other users have stated, they begin to hurt after being worn for ~5-10 minutes. If you're planning on buying something for gaming.. I would not suggest these. They get uncomfortable quick. I wouldn't even suggest these for for chat on Skype or the li...

works pretty well

Zachary T., Newegg

  • Pros: seems like a decent quality mic so far, it swivels and is bendable which is pretty neat. I don't get any complaints. I'm really rough on headsets, which is why i buy cheap ones like this. I'm at about the 6 month mark so far and no issues which is pretty good because I've ripped the cord out seve...
  • Cons: wish it had a braided cord or was wireless. Not much else to complain bout at this price point.

  • Summary: One other thing of note is that the cord is short at 6 ft. long. That's a problem for me but for sitting at the computer it's fine.
  • Pros: Cheap. Good sound and mic quality for the price.
  • Cons: Flimsy. Today I was getting ready to play an online game, so I moved the mic down towards my mouth and the casing around it snapped clean. While it still works, it's currently held together by double sided tape. Also, the ear cushions keep popping out. Doesn't matter, this is by far one of the le...

Not for long sessions

  • Summary: The comfort is really a shame. I love the volume controls, and overall audio quality.
  • Pros: The speakers and mic are both above average for the price. The inline volume control works directly with your computer's volume settings, which is extremely nice.
  • Cons: Extremely uncomfortable for anything more that a couple minutes. It was giving me headaches before i heated and expanded the neckband. The pair i got had the foam completely off of the hear piece, and it is very tough to put back on.

Don't waste your time or money.

  • Summary: Yeah, don't buy a Plantronics. Just use google and see. I wish I had before buying.
  • Pros: Seemed to work ok the first day.
  • Cons: Fired up the computer for a second day of gaming with my friends and, like the Plantronics headset this one replaced, the mic didn't work. I bought this mic hesitantly after my first Plantronics mic died. But the single review on this headset gave it 5 eggs. That coupled with the fact the my prev...

  • Summary: For the money, you can't really beat this headset in terms of the quality of the sound it receives and transmits. I've enthusiastically recommended it to anyone who wants an excellent headset for their computers at less then the cost of most "gaming grade" headsets, and given newegg's consistent...
  • Pros: I have had Plantronics headsets recommended to me in the past, and what sold me on this model was not only the price, but also the combination of DSP technology and a pure USB connection (not an adapter). The audio quality is superb, with Skype, games, music, and even Blu-Ray movies all sounding ...
  • Cons: About the only real cons I can think of for this headset are the weight of the cord compared to the headset, the fact it's purely USB, and the design. The cord, the remote especially, is somewhat heavier than the headset itself, and will pull down on the headset unless it is resting in a stable p...

Cheap & Cheerful

James, Amazon
3 June 2014
  • Summary: A cheap headset that's comfortable to wear and works well as a mic (my friends no longer whinge at 'hissing' in the background of my skype calls). Speakers are perfectly adequate; not hugely bass-y but these were so cheap I don't feel I can complain about this.

Poor sound quality

Ms CT Clarke, Amazon
28 May 2012
  • Summary: I purchased this as a replacement for Plantronics 345 (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Plantronics-Behind-Enhanced-Multimedia-headset/dp/B000VDB0DW). Seconds after putton on the 646, I wanted to take them off and return them.

Great Head-set at a great price

David, Amazon
16 November 2011
  • Summary: I've used a few different headsets over the past 6 years but all have been conventional top of the head style. I decided to try a set of Behind the head style and I'm glad to say I am delighted.
