  • Summary: I ordered this headset as a requirement to work from home. It is working as expected and it is comfortable to wear. The sound quality is crisp and clear and the controls for mute and volume are close at hand and a cinch to use. I am very pleased with the product and would recommend it.

It works

  • Excerpt: It's a well built product and the controls (mute, volume) work out-of-the-box with Windows 8 (maybe a driver was installed but it was done automagically).Audio recording quality via the microphone is good (which is why I got it). The headphones themselves are a tad heavy on the base but the sound quality is decent. My one beef with the headset is that the ear pads cause my ears to get warm.
  • Pros: Clear Signal, Connects Easily, Good Sound, Good Volume Control, Lightweight
  • Cons: Warm Ears

Decent audio

  • Excerpt: So far it's been used for running on-line lessons through Adobe Connect and for phone calls through Google Hangouts. The experience has been good. Other people report that I'm crystal clear and my own assessment of my recordings is that the quality is quite good. It's not AS good as what you'd get with a condenser style microphone (e.g. Snowball) but it's still substantially better than what you get with most headsets. The remote control on the cord is handy.
  • Pros: Clear Signal, Connects Easily, Good Sound, Good Volume Control, Lightweight
  • Cons: Warm Ears

1 yr later and still works fine

  • Pros: I have had this headset since August 2013. The headset is compatible with my company PC that uses My Instant Communicator software for my business phone. I use the headset daily and never had a problem. It's used for all my normal telephone needs. The ear pads are comfortable, it has inline mute and volume controls so it works well on conference calls.
  • Cons: None. I wrote this review to counter the 2 reviews that claimed their headsets were defective and didn't last long.

  • Summary: I like the fit, and the volume up and down and mute and phone built in the set. I have less reaching to do. They make my job easier and I no longer have to strain to hear one customer and the next is way to loud I have more control over the volume of the call. I am very happy with the Plantronics Audio 628 Stereo USB Headset!

  • Summary: I use Linux, and sadly Plantronics doesn't support Linux, so the headset doesn't work completely as advertised. Linux buyer beware, the in-line controls don't function unless you do a little fiddling in your audio settings.
