Summary: Staff member uses it primarily for voip related stuff
Pros: USB connect, works well, we've ordered many plantronics head sets in the past but never a USB interface one. We got it for one of our staff members who uses an inspiron 700M. That dell model has some audio problems so the only way to go about not encountering the problems was to get a USB interfa...
Summary: You can have these plugged in along with your speakers and just switch back and forth between them in Control Panel > Sounds and Audio devices > Audio tab. No reason to unplug them at all, just restart your application with your new settings.
Pros: Was in a rush when I was buying these and though they were the DSP 500's from Plantronics and was disappointed when I got them, but not for too long. Great sound and the microphone is clear.
Cons: A little uncomfortable at first, but you get used to it. Also not used to having the microphone on the right side of my head, all other headsets have had the mics on the left.
Summary: As others have said, make sure you plug the headset in before turning on your VOIP software. Definitely a problem with Windows that hasn't really been fixed in Vista either, though things are better in that OS.
Pros: Price is great. Plantronics has certainly not denigrated their own brand with this headset. Voice is clear even with no noise cancellation. While the frequency response isn't anywhere near that of quality headphones, for Skype and Teamspeak it's easily more than enough.
Cons: I'm very happy with this purchase. They are a bit flimsy, but I'm happy to sacrifice that for the quality of audio at this price.
Summary: Like the other reviewers have stated, make sure to plug this headset in *before* you start any program that you intend to use it for (Skype, Teamspeak, Ventrilo...etc) - otehrwise it won't work.
Pros: Works great as a gaming headset. I've had no problems with any aspect of it.
Pros: The sound quality is excellent, installation is a snap. If that's all you want this is perfect.
Cons: I've been on a call for an hour now and my ears hurt!! Also my hair, which is pretty short, keeps getting caught in the arms. At this point i think i'm going to send it back and get a different set.
Summary: A note if you run a program with sound before you plug it in the sound will continue through speakers but if you quit or start any other programs with sound the new programs sound is routed to the headset.
Pros: Works great, crystal clear sound, comfortable for a few hours.
Cons: Over rides my default audio device, in other words if this guy is plugged in sound switches to the headset. I only plug it in when I need to make calls on skype.
Pros: I am using this on a Mac OSX 10.3 Quicksilver computer with a USB 2.0 PCI card and a USB 2.0 hub. I'm using it to talk on Skype 188.8.131.52. It installed fine and works fine. If you adjust the headset for your head, it is not uncomfortable, though I wouldn't use it for all day. People on the other en...
Cons: Clips some highs from both your voice and the person on the other end, but not enough to be distracting.
Summary: Heard that USB connection is better than sound card connection for voice recognition so I tried this one (good value), given that Platronics is a great brand.
Pros: Good value. Has mute and volume controls built in to cord. I use it for Dragon Naturally Speaking Ver 9 (voice recognition to type and surf the web) with good accuracy. Package says it's good for Skype, too, which I'll probably try soon. After 45 days of being happy, I'm getting a 2nd one for ano...
