Good sound quality weak noise cancellation

Qifeng W., Newegg
17 July 2012
  • Pros: The headphone has good build quality and reasonable good sound quality. The noise cancellation works on low frequency noise, but it cannot block people's talk.
  • Cons: Noise cancellation feature is weak.

Warranty Info...

James S., Newegg
4 July 2012
  • Summary: Everybody is different in terms of fit and preference- for me though, I really like the sound and fit of these (with or W/O the noise cancelling turned on). I prefer a moderately heavy bass with good mids and highs that are not overpowering to the point of being shrill and "hissy" (w/o...
  • Pros: Nice balanced sound. Comfortable. Noise cancelling works well for mid/low freqs. Good as normal buds (w/o NC turned on). Monitor button to cut sound and NC (to hear somebody).
  • Cons: 90 Day Warranty per Pioneer Customer Support.

Anonymous, Newegg
31 January 2012
  • Pros: Good job with noise cancellation. Sound good. Come with different ear bud fittings and fit my ears well. Comfortable. Got a good deal on them.
  • Cons: 1st pair had to be exchanged because of faulty wiring. Triple AAA batteries are not cheap.

great noise-cancelling buds

Mark F., Newegg
9 December 2011
  • Summary: I bought these headphones because I spend a fair amount of time in an electronics lab environment at work which has a lot of background white noise. I wanted a way to protect my ears, and have the option of listening to music while doing so.
  • Pros: • compact size / easy to travel with • excellent sound quality • good noise isolation even with active cancelling disabled • noise-cancelling very effective in white-/brown-noise environments • extremely long battery life (>3 months averaging 5-10 hrs/week use and still on original battery)
  • Cons: • battery compartment a little bulky and somewhat awkwardly placed - if you don't have a button-up shirt or a shirt with pockets, it's hard to find a place to clip it. Clipped to my belt it will pull the buds out of my ears if I move in certain ways. Leaving unclipped pulls at the buds and isn't ...

I was expecting more...

Mark F., Newegg
28 November 2011
  • Summary: * I am not an audiophile. * I am 6ft tall and the length from the earphones to the sound cancelling compartment reaches my waist with an inch to spare so it can be clipped to my jeans belt loop. I don't usually have a shirt pocket handy. * The earbuds take a little getting used.
  • Pros: * Can't argue with a half price shell shocker * Solid sound, good bass * Light earbuds, feel cheaper than they look. * good length cord between earphones, noise cancelling unit and the 3.5mm adapter * Good noise "isolation" with the noise cancellation OFF.
  • Cons: * Compared to my Sennheiser CX300's which were a fraction of the price, the Pioneers didn't fit as well and I had to crank it up around 20% more for the same amount of music volume. * I barely notice a difference with the noise cancelling on/off. I get a slight noise/hum when the noise cancelling...

These work great but...

Al L., Newegg
8 November 2011
  • Pros: portable earbuds cancels out low frequency rumble sounds. Nice and compact, fits easily in shirt pocket. Quality of music is good for the price I got these for using on my long flights overseas to drown out airplane noises. I use these as my regular earbuds for my mp3 player now.
  • Cons: does not filter out middle or higher frequencies like voices. I have to increase volume to drown out those types of ambient noises.

Convienient and effective

Mr. VLC "luc", Amazon
21 May 2013
  • Summary: Although not as effective as the BOSE QC-15, it is much more convienient ( especially if you wear a hat) and more portable. About half as effective as the QC-15.

The aircraft adaptor's already included!

John Tamar, Amazon
11 January 2013
  • Summary: I notice the Amazon website is suggesting you buy the two-prong adaptor (as used on airliner seats) at the same time as the earphones. There's no need, because one comes in the box.

Superb sound quality, quality of noise cancelling varies

kaizen, Amazon
25 February 2012
  • Summary: The sound quality of these in ear earphones is superb. Listening to Adele's "Set fire to the rain" at the moment with the noise cancelling turned off. Vocals are very very clear, bass is powerful and not muffled at all, strings sound subtle but again very clear.
