Summary: ... Which is a blessing since that's what people are used to, and most silicone tips can fit them, like the ones found on Sony's in-ear buds. Battery lasted me a 14-hour flight, plus a few nights I fell asleep with the cancellation feature on, so they'll last you at least the length of a regular vacation. Noise cancellation isn't perfect, especially for SUPER low freqs, but they're much better than alternatives, especially for a good price like you can find occasionally.
Summary: Great head sets. Buds fit my ears. Noise control works well. Pioneer is beast! A lot less than beats...bought some at best buy and returned in two weeks because of the product breaking. Pioneer is/has always been well made.
Summary: I bought these to travel with as I was keen to try in-ear NCs and to compare them to my Bose QC1's. Using them on SYD-LAX proved to be very good - the noise-cancelling, though not as effective as the Bose (which were over-ear cans and got uncomfortable after prolonged use) was more than adequate to the task and comfort was a pleasant surprise.
Summary: I've had a pair of JVC noise canceling headphones for a while that I really like and thought I would give the Pioneer headphones a try. The sound is great. They may even be slightly better than the JVC ones. Noise cancelling is good. They get rid of lower sounds but higher pitch sounds don't get blocked much. I'd say my JVC did a little better job in this area. The fit is not super for MY ears. To clarify, I use my headphones when I run and when I mow the lawn.
Summary: This pair of earphones is my first pair of noise canceling earphones - either active or passive noise canceling. I have typically in the past used the kind of earphones that come with an iPhone - the in-ear (but not inner ear canal) earphones. The sound quality is good with this pair - though not amazing, especially at higher volumes. For someone who is not an extreme audiophile, I think the quality sounds fine. The noise canceling features are great.
Summary: These work well as expected. I don't have any past experience with noise cancelling earphones, but these do a very good job. They are comfortable to wear and have yet to find the battery life end after 18 hours of use. They do not eliminate outside sound, but GREATLY reduce the high pitched shrill sound of the airplane engines. I brought an old in-ear style Sony headphone set to compare the difference and it is significant.
