  • Summary: I have to edit this review to write a short one. These cans sound good for the price, decent bass and overall decent presentation, with nasaly mids and lack of detail. But break very fast. Had to take ratings down.

Just don't move a muscle, and everythings fine!

L. Bennion, Amazon
2 January 2015
  • Summary: Browser lost my original review so I'll keep this brief. - Sound quality good for price - cord length very useful - connection quality at jack is very poor and moving around can result in loss of hearing in one ear cup - Bought brand new pair thinking it was just because I had tangled the wires or damaged the jack but exact same problem with the brand new pair - Not bad all of the time, but extremely frustrating when it does happen as I wear them mostly when relaxing and...

WAY too quiet

Gemma, Amazon
15 June 2014
  • Summary: I bought these for my dad, as he would like to use them for both when watching tv alone at night and also with my mum in the evenings as he struggles to hear, and the level at which he needs the tv is uncomfortably loud for her. Set the headphones up using settings so that audio goes through both headphones and external speakers, but the in-line volume control is useless as you can only hear anything at a good level in the headphones when the volume is right up to max on...

Painful to wear

Barrovian, Amazon
12 September 2013
  • Summary: Very disappointed with these headphones. Although their sound is good, they are very uncomfortable to wear, the hard plastic headband puts pressure in all the wrong places and actually gave me a headache. Returned for full refund.

Poor sound quality.

Steve, Amazon
15 August 2013
  • Summary: Did not find these headphones suitable for use with my tv. Sound quality was poor and the tv volume had to be up high this caused a lot of distortion, even though the actual audible sound level was low. Distortion was very bassy... Bit disappointed as I needed the long cable. Might be an impedence issue because they perform better on my hi fi equipment..

Not a great sound

Mr. B. A. Lawson, Amazon
5 August 2013
  • Summary: These were only about £13 and had good reviews, but the sound quaity is quite poor and the sound level is very low. I don't know what they need an in line volume control for as I always have to have it full up. I also bought a pair of SONY MDR-V55 as well. Over twice the price but the sound quality on them is really good compared to the Philips ones. I don't know what £100+ headphones sound like but they can't be much better than the MDR-55s.

  • Summary: Sound quiet - but put this down to part of fault on LHS which was cutting out intermittently. I returned them back to store and was offered a full refund.

Too quiet, to much bass and treble

B. Kays, Amazon
11 July 2013
  • Summary: I bought these to listen to films/TV through my stereo at night. That's why I needed the extra long length of cord that these headphones have. They are made pretty well. Old in design but pretty sturdy and comfortable enough. The sound quality isn't very good though. Which is disappointing considering these bear the Philips name. I wont be listening to music with these.
