Summary: **Last Update: Sept 18, 2012**
The Uptown is the highest model in Philips' new CitiScape line of headphones. They come in black/brown or silver/brown, and are priced at $150 USD (street is/can be much lower). A few specs:
Impedance: 32 Ohm
Sensitivity: 103 dB
Max Power Input: 30mW
Cable Length: 1.2m (~4ft)
As you can see from the specs these should be pretty easy to drive, so an amp isn't required.
Pros: Sound (esp. bass and soundstage), extremely comfortable, looks nice
Cons: Cable could be better, inline remote is a problem, causes static and channel imbalance unless in a "sweet spot"
Summary: A friend of mine needed a new headphone, which was cheap, closed and good sounding. I said to him, dream on friend it will be very tough to find a headphone with those criteria.
But then after some browsing in the city, I stumbled upon the philips uptown. The first thing that struck me was the comfort. They feel much better than what you would expect for the price. I thought they felt better than the sennheiser momentum with those small ears.
Summary: Very light headphones, they fit around your ears quite nicely thanks to the memory foam. The volume is adequate but i wish that there was a 20% increase in it. On the other hand, the headphones provide ample amounts of sound cancellation when music is on.
Summary: I generally agree with this pair of headphones. First I would like to partially confirm the rumors about the cable. Yes it is not excellent and feels cheep. Too bad as the headphones overall have a very good feeling. They sound good and are comfortable to wear. I Would recommend these headphones but you need to be a bit careful with the cable.
Summary: As other said they are super comfortable and nice looking headphones. The truth is that the volume slider is a bit nonsense and sometimes faulty. I had to return my first pair of philips headphones because the volume slider was not working as it was supposed to. With the new pair, i received yesterday everything is OK!
Summary: Excellent retro styling and comfortable to wear. I have quite a large head so felt a little tight for the first few hours but then loosened up nicely. Sound quality is excellent for a closed cup headphone with deep bass but still picks out the detail sounds in the music that cheaper headphones miss but you still wont get the depth you get with open cup.
Summary: They are some very nice looking headphones with the brown leather they are good for the price and they have made listen to more music. But there is a little problem with the volume control you can not feel how loud you screw up or down Iam not the best to english i comming from Denmark
Summary: Comfort-wise these headphones are impeccable, I can wear these sometimes for up to 10 hours a day, no headaches, no earaches,, just comfort. Sound-wise they are above average, and something which is a plus for me, they do not have a pre-set tone and are very neutral meaning you can adjust with impunity in what ever player you use. The only negative I have found is the lack of detachable cable.
