  • Summary: This is my first attempt at a review, so if you make it to the bottom: Heres to you!     Philips latest headphone line is better summed up in one word: Awesome. Sleek industrial design, modern indeed, yet classic and timeless. I thought of Grado (SR60-SR125), only not sort of cheap-looking.  Stitches that contrast nicely in orange on black. Orange cloth-covered detachable chord. Aluminum cups with discreet lettering and memory foam pads. They look the price, for sure.
  • Pros: Balanced sound, sleek design.
  • Cons: A bit too tight for extended listening.

Great sound and design for the price.

  • Summary: My Favorite Headphones under $200.
  • Pros: The M1s sound amazing with lots of different genres of music. They also look great and well designed for everyday use. For this price I don't think you can get much better sound quality despite what the Cnet review says. Easy buy for me.
  • Cons: They Don't fold completely. Could have some more bass.

  • Summary: The Philips M1 has the most treble rolloff of any headphone I've owned. Compared to the Shure 1840 which isn't bright, the M1 is down about 12 db at 7 khz and 16 db at 10 khz. The construction or build is comparable to an average $100 headphone, and this sound and build quality are very different from the Philips L1 headphone which is excellent. Portability is excellent, and isolation and leakage are excellent.

Excellent phones but LED light can bother others....

Mike Lexically "mike234567", Amazon

  • Summary: An excellent pair of phones in most ways. I just want to alert you to the blue LED light which when these phones are in use flashes every 8 seconds. Not convenient for night-time use if there is someone else in the room!! Or, I think, in a plane at night. I have to cover it with Bluetack. (Suggestion to the designers -- make the light shine INTO the ears, so its function can be checked, but so it won't bother anyone).

Terrific set of apt-x headphones

  • Summary: These really are excellent earphones. Without getting too heavy on sound... all I'll say is that the sound quality is very impressive, with strong but not forceful bass where required (will also cope with crazy bass levels if that's your thing) and really good coverage of both the mid and high tones enabling you to get a really faithful sound reproduction. The real jewel in the crown though is the Bluetooth performance.

Incredible headphones with huge drawback

  • Summary: I have owned these headphones for 10 months now. Most importantly, they sound fantastic and only get better with use. I listen to a variety of music, everything from Portishead and Bonobo to Kendrick Lamar and Deftones. Everything sounds incredible through these, the sound is just enjoyable and detailed with well balanced bass. From a build and comfort perspective I love them. They are very sturdy and the memory foam ear pads are very comfortable.

Great headphones

  • Summary: Comfortable fit, stylish and above all, great sound. Rich bass and great across the range, important for me. I also like the sound-isolating properties. They're not noise-cancelling but very good at keeping outside noise out just because of the comfy memory foam earpads. I can barely hear anything but my music when I'm listening to these.

Falls short of expectation.

Joseph Holmes, Amazon

  • Summary: I was really looking forward to these headphones. They look the part and I'm a big fan of What Hifi who gave them 5 stars and Bluetooth product of the year. However they fell short for me. Don't get me wrong they're brilliant to look at and also are probably the most comfortable headphones I've ever worn (I've had a lot of cans), but I found the bluetooth connection even with the aptX patchy, there was this weird annoying buzz constantly (maybe I had a dodgy pair) and...
