Philips Fidelio M1 on-ear headphones: Comfortable and clear-sounding
13 May 2013
Summary: While they fall short of delivering truly excellent sound, the well-designed Philips Fidelio M1 on-ear headphones are comfortable to wear and well-suited for day-to-day use.
Pros: The Philips Fidelio M1s offer clear, natural sound and a very comfortable fit for on-ear headphones. They also fold flat, have an attractive design, and have an inline one-button remote/microphone for making cell phone calls. A protective carrying pouch is included.
Excerpt: The Philips M1 wired headphones are stylish, refined and well-balanced, so when you take the M1s and add Bluetooth as an option for wireless music, the result should be delighted. But it isn't entirely so.
Conclusion: As with the L1s, we found ourselves falling for the M1s. If we could change anything, we'd get rid of that silly little cable drop from the earphone, and perhaps make the memory foam earpads replaceable. From a sound perspective though, we're very happy with the overall quality. And let's be honest, that's really all that matters. Of course, it doesn't hurt that these headphones look great, and feel good too.
Pros: Comfortable, stylish, great sound
Cons: Nothing is user-replaceable, down-cable from earphones is silly, quite expensive
