Panasonic RP-HC101 Noise Canceling Headphone

tazzdisco, Overstock
2 October 2012
  • Summary: The battery pack for the noise canceling feature has a clip, but the length of wire between the headphone and the clip isn't long enough for my needs. That said, I've been using it at night to listen to binaural sleep sounds/music.

Very good but may not last a long time

D. D. Golding "subcomandante dan", Amazon
8 October 2013
  • Summary: I am now on my second pair of these. The good news is that they are comfortable and for the price have good sound and noise reduction. I've used them regularly on both trains and planes and you definitely notice the difference when the noise reduction is on.

Nice and compact but doesn't cut out extranuous sounds

G. Findlay, Amazon
24 April 2013
  • Summary: If you want to listen to files without hearing the outside world this won't be suitable - it dampens them a bit but not brilliantly. I like the compact design though and they are usually ok for most of my needs, The battery compartment cover fell of after a few weeks though - very flimsy and now I...

Good quality

Mr. Stephen Hughes "hughesswfb", Amazon
5 February 2013
  • Summary: Sound cancelling is okay but not as good as Panasonic make out. Sound quality is good, especially when noise cancelling switched on. Very light and comfortable.

Excellent value

V1perbite, Amazon
30 August 2012
  • Summary: They are flexible for when I have accidentally sat on them. And the cushioning on the ear does not wear out easily. The noise cancellation works well enough (especially on aeroplanes). However, do not expect it to compete with a £400 pair. They do the job only as well as the money spent.

Why do they bother?

jman, Amazon
21 June 2012
  • Summary: Unimpressed but what to expect! This is my fourth Panasonic purchase, the first - a VHS recorder was brilliant the followihg two - DVD recorders were rubbish and now theae headphones :- sound quality poor, noise cancelling negligible and why oh why do headphone manufacturers always provide wiring...

Far too flimsy

J. Harding, Amazon
18 February 2012
  • Summary: The woefully thin plastic hinge broke the fifth time I used these, when folding them to put them away. The sound is OK but the ear cups are very small so don't block enough noise but the noise cancellation has some effect. Too flimsy for use on the move.

Good headphones but not fully satisfied

Cotswold "Tea lover", Amazon
7 January 2012
  • Summary: These headphones were recommended by Which? as very good noise cancelling headphones at a reasonable price. In that respect they are OK but over a test period of 48 hours on long haul flights I would say they only cancelled about half of the droning engine noise.

Very good, but...

Pot Sushi, Amazon
2 January 2012
  • Summary: Generally speaking nice quality headphones. The noise cancellation works well and the sound quality seems great to my untrained ears. Slight criticism is the AAA battery compartment cover is a bit flimsy and comes open by itself sometimes otherwise this would be a 5 star review.
