Excerpt: I personally like it very much - it allows me to use a multitude of media if I want to mix music at a party or dance, and it is also very simple and has the most basic controls that allows a beginner to learn quickly, and a pro could very easily become accustomed to this device. I would recommend it for somebody who wants to DJ for fun, at small parties, weddings and dances, but for big events like night clubs and bigger events, I would not recommend this device.
Summary: From afar this baby looks like a great little piece of equipment. Me and my roommate got it home and began to do work with the beast. The traktor dj software that comes with it works great but be aware of using cd's. When you have cd's loaded up half the machine freezes up and half the buttons don't work. The bpm meter was all over the place and the only way we could get it in tune was to fiddle with the pitch to get it lined up.
Summary: I had a couple of NDX 400 before buying this, and Mixdeck's two decks are equivalent of NDX 900, which is a nice upgrade for me. Sure enough, the decks are of excellent quality; with enough functions to get your music flowing with minimum hassle. The BPM counter is accurate and responsive enough - you can spend more time on finding the perfect mixing point, rather than on fiddling with the pitch slider. (But always trust your ear, not some digital counter.
Summary: I've owned the MIXDECK for almost a year now and have yet to experience any problems with it. I've used it at a few gigs and have it setup at home for when I'm in the mood to mix. The only thing I don't like about this unit is that NEWER iPHONES AND iPODS ARE NOT COMPATIBLE. Also, it's made of plastic compared to metal. If you keep it in the case, which I highly recommend, you should be fine though.
Summary: Im a starting DJ and been going to best buy weekly to try this out for 2 weeks straight until I finally purchased it. It is very easy to use and you can play your Ipod on it only thig is you cannot mix it.
Summary: This system is well worth paying the extra dough for. I initially had my eyes on the IDJ3, but then when Best Buy started selling the Mixdeck, I immediately changed my mind. The system also came with a free pair of Koss headphones, which aren't too bad at all. This system is perfect for first-time DJ's like myself. You can do anything with this package that you can do with a regular two-turntable and mixer set, except mix vinyl of course.
Pros: Easy to use, variety of effects, price for what it's worth.
