Headset works, dongle doesn't

CHRISTOPHE H., Newegg
18 August 2007
  • Summary: it would have gotten 5 eggs but the dongle just up and dieing on me made me take one. if it was something that made it break it would be 5 eggs. for all the people that say this headset isn't loud enough, learn how to mod your phone :P motorola phones you can change how loud the Bluetooth speaker,...
  • Pros: it's got no wires. the charge lasts a long time. pretty simple setup. works with any bluetooth device and spec. the included dongle allows you to connect any bluetooth device to your computer. range i got was near 70ft with no obstructions and little signal loss. obstructions and interference and...
  • Cons: but the dongle died on me. just one day decided it wanted to be an "unknown USB Device" and then after that all XP could do was say it was malfunctioning and needed to be replaced. Haven't tried RMA'ing it or calling motorola about it as the dongle was sort of an afterthought. I am unsure if the ...

Yvonne L., Newegg
18 July 2007
  • Pros: looks cool.
  • Cons: worked fine for the first few months. i followed the installation instructions exactly. i use it mostly with my computer for skype. the headset constantly shuts off on its own. the people i call sometimes get very strong static so i have to reset it constantly. i've also tried using it with my ce...

Bad vocals

ALLEN H., Newegg
23 February 2007
  • Summary: It was recognized by my notebook PC but didn't start any Bluetooth features for use with Skype. I'm searching the Internet for ways to get it to work. The ones I've found so far required editing the Registry and other arcane measures. Not what I expected for a Skype certified headset.
  • Pros: Allegedly works with Skype on a PC
  • Cons: I've received complaints from my callers on every call I've used this headset. One described it as Morse code in the bacground and another with ringing in the background. Both of these calls were from my quiet office. When I went off headset both were amazed at the difference.

Sougata D., Newegg
17 February 2007
  • Pros: The sound was clear. The earpiece worked great. I heard no static. It worked in the next room as well.
  • Cons: The mic is terrible. Everytime I tried to make a call I coud hear them fine but all they could hear was a loud buzzing sound. When I walked into a different room it got even worse.

User Review

Kirk W., Newegg
8 February 2007
  • Summary: Props to Newegg.com for quick shipping fulfilling an RMA so that I could return the unit promptly. Will buy from Newegg again, will NEVER buy again from Motorola
  • Pros: Sleek and sexy, when it works the sound quality is acceptable, easy installation and easy use
  • Cons: When I tried using it with Skype, or any other application, the microphone picked up a very loud wining noise whenever I used it, no matter how far or close I was to the bluetooth USB adapter. So whenever I'd call someone with it, I would be unintelligible, but I could hear them fine. When I trie...

User Review

Ryan L., Newegg
7 February 2007
  • Summary: The volume may be a little low for use in vehicle. Seems to be fine at the computer. It might just be me but it feels like the headset is going to fall off my head. But even shaking my head to the point of a headache it still doesn't come off.
  • Pros: Works pretty well with skype. Installation is on a small cd and requires virtually no input from user.
  • Cons: This is actually the second one I got. The first I had to RMA (which seemed to take a while) but the RMA still went smoothly. The first one sounded fine however the microphone had a constant humming for the receiving party. I tried 3 computers in total with same results. Got the new one and every...

User Review

Fred M., Newegg
19 January 2007
  • Summary: For the price, this is a great product to free yourself from being tied to a laptop. I recommend it.
  • Pros: This product works nicely with Skype. Further volume and microphone adjustments can be made through Skype software to increase sensitivity of headset. If you talk lightly or have a loud conversationalist, the volume adjustments on Skype can resolve the problem. I have not had any noise or radio i...
  • Cons: While the design is not bad, the ear piece design could be improved to fit more snugly and securely around ear.
