MEElectronics HT-21 Portable Travel Headphone with Adjustable Headband

gpast, Overstock
2 February 2013
  • Summary: The headphones are slightly larger than I thought they would be. After extended wear the band pushes into the top of my head and is uncomfortable. There's a bit of padding but not nearly enough.

A regretted buy

Daniel L., Newegg
9 March 2012
  • Summary: While I am not an audiophile, I do collect as many budget head- and earphones as I can. These HT-21 headphones do not do the good name of MEElectronics justice, as I can definitely recommend their M9 earphones, as well as their customer service (my pair of M9 broke, replacement sent immediately upon...
  • Pros: - Portability (they fold up nicely) - Low-profile
  • Cons: - even though they fold up, they do not stay that way. I would have to jam them into the included storage bag. - somewhat flimsy construction, headband is too thin - earcups a little too firmly padded, hurt ears after a while - MEElec logo on earcups scratches off easily

Poor Sound Quality, Nice Build

Jason W., Newegg
7 February 2012
  • Summary: They can get a little uncomfortable to wear after extended use, but you sacrifice comfort for extreme portability.
  • Pros: I bought these hoping to have a nice portable replacement to my aging Sony MDR-V300s and they deliver on that front. Nice and compact, these headphones are easy to slip in it's carrier bag and fold up quite nicely.
  • Cons: However, more important was the sound and the HT-21s left me a little disappointed. The out of the box sound is very bright, and not every device I carry has the capability to tone down the highs. With the right settings you could get some great sound of of these.

Update

Christian H., Newegg
19 July 2011
  • Summary: Tech support for MEE is waaaaay more prompt than Creative ( Sound Blaster )
  • Pros: Update: MEElectronics has agreed to ship me a replacement as well as a pre-paid shipping label to return the defective piece.
  • Cons: Haven't received replacement yet, will reevaluate when I do.

Decent overall

Marlon M., Newegg
18 July 2011
  • Summary: Got these to use while at the computer and that's a good thing because these headphones require an equalizer to sound good. Out of the box, these have an overpowering midrange and an almost non-existent highs.
  • Pros: Price, fit, cord length
  • Cons: harsh midrange

Mediocre sound, great build quality

Kevin M., Newegg
11 June 2011
  • Summary: It seems strange to me that they would invest so much into the build quality of these headphones, yet, use such mediocre speakers. I tested them with rock and symphonic tracks on both an iPhone 4 and a nano. Overall, the sound is lacking any real depth.
  • Pros: Great build quality. Very comfortable and lightweight. Tangle-free cord. Great quality carrying bag. Folding cups for portability.
  • Cons: Sound quality is nothing special.
