Just the ticket - does what you expect

Summary: I am happy with this product and it does what you expect. What a pity the Logitech has flushed the product line - Shame - Sonos shows how to do it - obvious that Logitect didnt really know what they were doing with these fine products
Summary: Have had this for 4/5 months and it's been great - essential for SQ box Radio which is not the best user friendly facia - this remote solves that - it is very easy to use for playback and radio station selection/ sound level adjustment - and the price was much lower than a new AP.
Summary: OVERVIEW There are a couple of reasons for buying this accessory pack. First, if you want your Squeezebox Radio to be mobile, the battery will give you several hours of mains-free operation. Second, the remote control will come in handy if you want to leave the radio in one place - but there are some restrictions, as noted below. BATTERY The "battery" is actually a set of AA rechargeables enclosed in tough black shrink-wrap.
Summary: I am an existing user of squeezebox radios so have had these kits before. They do exactly as described and make the radio fully portable. It would be good if the battery was sold separately as I have less need for the remote.
Programming the remote to select your preset favorites
13 September 2012
Summary: I have seen reviews complaining that the Squeezebox remote cannot be used to select your preset stations. I too found it strange that Logitech had not included this facility. I called Logitech and was told that this function was not possible with the small remote provided with the battery pack. Pleased to report that despite Logitech's statement this function is in fact possible through the Settings menu. Select Settings from the Main Menu. Select Advanced.
Summary: The remote in this pack is virtually useless. You can switch the radio on/off and control the volume well enough, but that's about it. There's no way to get to your favourites. The battery on the other hand is good. It charges as the radio is plugged in...and charges fairly quickly...and gives you battery-powered listening for at least six or seven hours before it needs another charge. Some have said it's fiddly to install, but I found it quite straightforward.
Summary: It is ridiculous that the remote cannot be used to select the preset stations. This effectively means that the remote can only be used to turn the radio on and off and to adjust the volume. The radio is a fine product but the restricted remote really let's down the package.
Summary: I purchased the battery pack as i thought that the ability to move the radio inside the house (or even outside), without the needs to plug in to mains or interrupt my listening, was a must. I was absolutely right. This pack should be included in the original box and not as an accessory. The installation is very easy and the remote is not only good quality but the base is magnetic. That allows you to have it stuck on the fridge or anywhere else it sticks.
