Excerpt: If you are purchasing this item to simply listen to audio on your PC then this headset should do the trick. However, if you are an online gamer or want to use it with things like Skype, forget about it. The microphone will either never pick up your speech or will constantly pickup speech.
Summary: I bought these expecting them to be perfect for long gaming sessions. I was wrong, the pad that runs across the top of your head is excruciating. They are great headphones if you aren't going to be playing for more than 2 hours at a time but if you want to sit down for any longer than that, choose something else. I read all the reviews and these seamed to be the best in this price range, but trust me, sacrifice appearance and go with something more comfortable.
Summary: Sound came out of the headphones fine. The mic is barely audible. This is apparently a common issue. Even after cranking up the mic volume and boost, you get a lot of static but very quiet voice pickup.
Summary: The product itself was okay as far as design and comfort, but the problem I had was the quality! 1. Mic: My Logitech webcam picked up my voice clearer than this headset. The sound was just okay at best, but I still didn't understand how the sound quality was worse on this than my webcam. I would always have to fidget with the mic a bit to get it to be clear, but most of the time there was always this slightly static sound. 2. Sound: Sound quality was fine.
Summary: I bought it, though it was good for a while, and 2 weeks later low and behold. The microphone broke. It as making a high pitched noise and it was also picking up a lot of background noise. It also did not detect my voice, which was a few inches away from it no matter how loud I spoke. It sounds okay, but it is not worth the $50.
