The very first model of the Porta Pro Stereophone from Koss was released back in 1984. Today’s Koss Porta Pro retains the design as well as the high quality performance that the original was known for. The Porta Pro has a retro design and is available in a black color scheme with light blue and silver accents. It features an open air design that minimizes the audio distortion found on most closed-back headphones.

The headphone’s metal headband is adjustable to ensure the wearer’s comfort. The small ear pads are covered with a soft foam and also features multi pivoting ear plates. Additional unique features of the Porta Pro are the additional foam cushions situated above the ear pads and what Koss calls the “Comfort Zone”. The foam cushions prevent the headphones from pressing too firmly on the wearer’s head while the “Comfort Zone” allows for adjusting the tension of the ear piece. With the “Comfort Zone”, the wearer can choose from three tension settings.

The Koss Porta Pro can be folded with the ear pieces clipped together for easier portability. A carrying case is also provided for added protection when traveling with the headphones. The Porta Pro is backed up by a lifetime warranty.

For high quality audio reproduction, the Porta Pro uses mylar diaphragms and neodymium iron boron magnets. The rigidity of the mylar minimizes mechanical distortion and increases the accuracy of sound reproduction. Koss has also used Oxygen Free Copper (OFC) voice coils to ensure audio clarity.
