Klipsch KM-3---Not the best of its field

CMJ, Crutchfield
28 February 2014
  • Summary: Having canvassed the internet for the best bluetooth speaker dock at this price point, I was persuaded by what seemed like an onslaught of positive reviews for the Klipsch KMC-3. I had previous experience with Klipsch headphones and am well-aware of Kipsch's stellar reputation amongst audiophiles; therefore, I decided to take the plunge and purchase this speaker. Well, in the interim, I had also ordered a heavily discounted JBL Rumble.
  • Pros: Looks Great Good Bass
  • Cons: *Muddy Wall of Sound, Little Separation *APTX sounds worse than regular bluetooth even when paired with an APTX capable Android tablet *Bluetooth must be re-paired with IOS Devices each time bluetooth is used because the initial remembered connection with an IOS device (tested with an iPhone 5 and iPad Air) is full of static and crackling (like a scratched record) when automatically connecting. This did not happen with my MacBook Air or Android Tablet.
