Excerpt: Unpack the X5s and you'll find no less than five different types of ear buds or ‘comfort ear gels' as Klipsch likes to call them. Irrespective of the name, these buds help turn the X5s into some of the most comfortable in-ears we've ever come across. You also get a magnetic carry pouch, and a cleaning tool for keeping wax out of the way. Which is nice.
Pros: Bass possesses much weight, secure and comfortable
Summary: Klipsch’s Image X10 headphones are among our favourite sound-isolating in-ears. They sound spectacular despite their minuscule proportions and are about as comfortable as invasive ear-pluggers get. So it was with some trepidation that we approached the X5s. These cheaper, slightly bigger (though still barely there) and silver-er headphones had a serious weight of expectation bearing down on them. Tubular swell Fortunately, our initial impressions were positive.
Conclusion: Thanks to the well-designed ear tips, the Klipsch Image X5 earphones offer great sound isolation — always a good thing in our book, because it lets you listen to your music at lower volumes and preserve your hearing. Since the sleeves aren't round like most, it may take a bit of twisting to get the best fit; if you're having trouble getting a seal, try inserting the 'buds then tugging them out a bit.
Pros: Thin, tangle-prone wire that raises some concern for durability, Pricey, Shorter warranty period than competition from Shure
Cons: Ultracompact, lightweight, and comfortable, Offer great sound quality, Contoured eartips offer a secure fit with exceptional sound isolation, Plug is uniquely designed for durability, Includes a nifty travel pouch, an aeroplane adaptor, and a cleaning tool
