Summary: I got these to cancel out street noises when I have my windows open. Seemed to do very little to cancel noise. Better off to buy regular headphones with good muffling. I returned mine as soon as I could.
Summary: I bought these for a trip overseas. The noise cancelling was comparable to others I've tried at the lower price point for such headphones and worked well on plane and train trips. As with any noise cancelling it helped to drown out constant backgrounds noises like jet engines, etc.
Summary: I bought this strictly for the noise-cancelling feature and was disappointed. I didn't hear any difference in sound when noise-cancelling was off or on. In fact, I checked it repeatedly because I wanted to hear a difference. Sound quality was fine and comfort was fine.
Summary: A $5 earbud piece from Taiwan does a better job at noise cancelling than this JVC piece. Just how bad is it? I listen to music using the noise cancelling feature while standing next to a 6" table fan. I can hear the drone of the whisper-quiet fan through the JVC headphone!
Summary: I don't understand why they would make the arms of these headphones jut out to the side of your head so dramatically. Really goofy looking and actually uncomfortable because the weight of the headphones are supported by the rigid pad that rests top center of your skull.

Summary: Very nice headsets but they have nothing in relation to noise cancelling. Sound quality is reasonable but when you switch them on and there is no change in the output. Just a marketing name, does't provide the feature whatsoever JVC should never name this product noise cancelling as there is nothing...
Summary: Having read the majority of positive reviews on these headphones I purchased two sets for my wife and I, for a long haul flight. I have to say, that I simply don't agree with any statement that says they reduce cabin noise, as they just do not.
