Nice headphones, but Noise cancelling non-existence

Summary: I went with the majority of the review and thought I will try the luxury of NS headphones, nice packaging and comfortable headphones. The initial thought of the sound quality is rather poor for over ear headphones, with a very flat range and noise cancelling pretty much non-existence.
Summary: Bought these specifically for a long haul flight to block out the engine noise. They just don't work. Having down a lot of research before buying them after trying the Bose headphones which are amazing I decided I couldn't justify £250 for the occasional long haul flight. They are very comfy with the retractable cord being very handy however there is virtually no noise cancelling of lane engine noise, the reason I bought them, so they are going back I'm afraid.
Summary: I bought these but went back and bought the Sennheisers I had earlier. These are OK but not as good as the Sennheisers. Sound not as rich. Noise cancelling not as good. Plus they are pretty clunky - big cans on the side of your head. Beware of the Sennheisers though. Great headphones - but with a long and rather slender plug. This easily gets broken on flights. Still - I decided to risk it again.
Summary: I tested these on a recent flight and found there was barely any attenuation of noise at any frequency. In the noisy airport departure lounge there was very little improvement, and on the plane the engine noise was reduced by perhaps ten per cent - not enough to justify the cost of a battery. Sound quality is good but no better than my Philips foldables, which are much smaller and around half the price.
Decent headphones, but zero noise cancellation in office environment
28 January 2013
Summary: The sound from these headphones is decent enough. However, I don't know how the manufacturer came up with their noise cancellation percentage. Perhaps in some environments they do cancel noise to that level, but I am using them in an office environment to dry to drown out noisy eaters and background chatter, and they have no effect whatsoever.
Summary: The sound, and especially the noise cancelling, amazes me every time I use the headphones...and that's pretty much every day. The "white noise" at the office completely disappears and I can actually turn the volume way down on the music - better for my ears. :) I find the headphones very comfortable and I can wear them for hours - something I've never been able to say about other on-the-ear headphones (I have a big head - literally!).
Summary: Great sound, worked well on long flight, but the plastic is very brittle. Very well taken care of but the area around the earpiece requires some reengineering. Nice and portable, cut out 90% of flight engine noise. Will try another brand with hinges that allow the headphones to fold.
Summary: Like another reviewer, I felt this is a great package with good sound IF YOU ARE IN A QUIET ROOM. The noise cancelation is touted at 85%, but I would rate it at about 25%, which is simply not adequate for listening to music on airplanes. Partly it's because of the small ear covers, which let lots of sound leak in.
Summary: The sound was fine. I have no problems with the audio abilities. They fold up small and would be good for travel. If they were just standard headphones, I would be happy with them. The problem I have is the sound cancelling doesn't seem to make much of a difference at all. I tested them against the range fan, vacuum cleaner, fridge fan and I even played a sound effect of a jet interior wondering if they were tuned to that specific frequency.
