Summary: Purchased these from a local retailer. Had good luck with JVC products in the past and hoped they would live up to the brand expectations. The headphones sound OK, but the do not fit around the ears and after time will cause ear pain. I purchased these to use in commercial air flight. It was VERY obvious these headphones to do not counteract exterior noise, they just seem to create white noise to block out the external noises.
Summary: I was thrilled when I purchase the JVC HA-NC120 headphones. They were my first real noise cancelling headphones and had been purchased for our trip. They really did sound great on the plane and everywhere else. Unfortunately, after less than 20 hours of use, my wife pulled the set out of its pouch one day and found the earpiece to be hanging by the cord. The joint between the earpiece and the headband had snapped off.
Summary: These are supposed to be noise canceling but they do NOT cancel much (if any) noise. They are adjustable (get bigger for a larger head) and the cord is retractable but they aren't super comfortable. If you have long hair, it will get caught in the multiple hinges. Trust me. They start to hurt my ears, maybe too much pressure or something. Again, they SUCK at canceling noise. Don't waste your money.
Summary: Great sound, worked well on long flight, but the plastic is very brittle. Very well taken care of but the area around the earpiece requires some reengineering. Nice and portable, cut out 90% of flight engine noise. Will try another brand with hinges that allow the headphones to fold.
Summary: The sound, and especially the noise cancelling, amazes me every time I use the headphones...and that's pretty much every day. The "white noise" at the office completely disappears and I can actually turn the volume way down on the music - better for my ears. :) I find the headphones very comfortable and I can wear them for hours - something I've never been able to say about other on-the-ear headphones (I have a big head - literally!).
Summary: The sound was fine. I have no problems with the audio abilities. They fold up small and would be good for travel. If they were just standard headphones, I would be happy with them. The problem I have is the sound cancelling doesn't seem to make much of a difference at all. I tested them against the range fan, vacuum cleaner, fridge fan and I even played a sound effect of a jet interior wondering if they were tuned to that specific frequency.
Summary: El sonido es bueno, como otros auriculares de su categoría. Pero no reduce apenas el ruido. Lo peor que he encontrado es que si el cable no está completamente desenrollado produce un ruido muy molesto cuando roza con el agujero de salida.
