Summary: Purchased these from a local retailer. Had good luck with JVC products in the past and hoped they would live up to the brand expectations. The headphones sound OK, but the do not fit around the ears and after time will cause ear pain. I purchased these to use in commercial air flight. It was VERY obvious these headphones to do not counteract exterior noise, they just seem to create white noise to block out the external noises.
Summary: Just got back from a 9 hours flight and this headphnes helped a lot. The sound in great and it can cancel a great portion of noise (not entirelly) around you. Not sure if any other could deliver zero noise, but for the price, I consider it a excellent choise.
Summary: These headphones arrived with the linkage between the left earpiece and headpiece broken, which is right where other people say these headphones break. It doesn't matter how good they sound if they break so easily. Try something else.
Summary: I've had two pair of these. One I lost and second was destroyed by my son. The quality of both the sound and the noise cancelling feature are excellent at these price point. The retractable cord feature is fantastic for clean and simple storage.
Summary: These headphones are quite nice. I wanted a pair that would drown out the sound of the television and these did the trick. My wife likes watcching television and I watch tutorials and youtube on the computer, I don't hear anything but what I want to hear. If my wife wants my attention she's over there waving her arms until I catch her out of the corner of my eye. I think it's funny, her?, not so much. They have great sound with or without noise cancelling.
Summary: I got it a day before making a trip overseas. It was an absolutely useless piece of junk. There was no difference between turning the active noise cancellation on, or turning it off. Even the earpiece couldn't isolate the airplane noise. Fortunately, I brought along a handy noise isolating earpiece which I purchased for $5.95.
Summary: I have been testing them and frankly they do suppress noise when in public places. Most of the suppression is from the cup fitting tightly on ears and active suppression works okay. I compared them to my Sony MDR-V6 obviously not same sound quality really not much off! There are better NC H/Phones but for someone on budget they are very decent sounding and good sound insulation. Comfort varies by our anatomy but they are okay for me.
