Good performing offering from JBL

Jason H., Newegg

  • Summary: I purchased these for work recently to replace my dead Sony's. I was looking for a lightweight, modestly priced and decent sounding pair of headphones. On all accounts the JBL J55's hit the mark. At under $20, they are very affordable. The headset is light and fits my head well.
  • Pros: * Nice bass response * Volume is respectable with lower power Devices * NewEgg price of under $20 * Pretty comfortable * Flat cable
  • Cons: * Somewhat cheap construction * Fairly short cable

  • Pros: I love how light these are. They cup your ear nicely and sound totally, totally awesome. I love it that they fold and come with there own pouch. I bought the ones without the mic first loved the sound then these came on sale and figured for the price I should have an extra pair. The sound, bass t...

JBL J55 On-Ear Headphones - No-Mic - Orange

Anonymous, Newegg
5 April 2015
  • Summary: The length of the cord would be nicer if it were longer. Not bad headphones for the reduced price. 50mm drivers would've been better but I knew they only had 40mm when purchased.
  • Pros: Reasonably priced with promo code and low shipping cost. Good quality sound for headphones with 40mm drivers. Tangle free cord.
  • Cons: Length of cord.

Great value and sound

Philip M., Newegg
1 April 2015
  • Summary: New Egg shows equivalent retail prices that are inflated. At least $20 over what Harman shows as list on these. Still a great value at the under-$20 I paid, including shipping. Another great New Egg value on a quality product. My daughter will enjoy them.
  • Pros: Superb packaging, nice quality, sound great. I have no idea what others are used to if they think they can't hear bass in these. I've tried them from my iPod Classic with all Lossless files as well as direct from my computer using hi-def files from the Audiogon samplers. If anything I'd have to s...
  • Cons: I"m a glasses wearer and find the on-ear a bit uncomfortable but the padding is good. Without my glasses on they're fine. I guess it's the time we live in but these came without a 1/4-inch adapter for "normal" headphone jack? The pictures on the product page would imply that even though they have...

  • Summary: So, I'm an audio engineer, and figured that JBL headphones at $20 would be a steal. They're good if you just want something to travel with and not worry about or something. Watching videos and listening to anything but EDM or anything like that, the bass is just overpowering.
  • Pros: Good Build quality removeable cord tangle free cord
  • Cons: Lowend is way too exaggerated. Uncomfortable after just an hour.

Bass Lovers, you will Enjoy it

Mr. T., Newegg
31 March 2015
  • Summary: - Longer cable - Bigger Ear piece so it sits comfortably for people who wear glasses - Better logos on the External Ear Piece
  • Pros: This is a great product for the price when i purchased ($20). It gives you great Bass where the Cushion isolates any external sound creating a nice vacuum which gives you heavy bass feeling. For budgetary purpose this is a bargain product, since i tested Sony Mega bass around $25 ones but wasn't ...
  • Cons: 1) Not good for people who wear glasses, because it starts hurting on the back of the ears due to tight compression. This Compression is needed to give you good Bass. 2) Ear piece don't swell (move around) but simple move inside for packing, it would be good it they move in/out like DJ Style ones...

2nd best headset. Just purchased JBL J88

Lee P., Newegg
30 March 2015
  • Summary: A lot of what you get out of something depends on the other components being used as a part of the complete system. In other words, if your sound source quality is low the performance of these headset will not be perform to peak performance.
  • Pros: One thing I have always liked about JBL and Altec Lansing is their sound accuracy. These headphones are by far the 2nd best headsets in terms of sound, I ever purchased. Note: I just purchased JBL J88 and they are better. Do not expect a heavy bass sound, but a much more accurate deep tone sound ...
  • Cons: The only problem with these headphone that they are pone for easily being damage. Greater precaution and care is need especially when in use. The good new is that JBL has already release newer versus of these set and I would image they have already made the adjustment needed to prolong the life o...
