Summary: This device is excellent. I have had mine nearly a year and have no issues with it at all. The app is a jewel of design. The GUI is uniquely intuitive and provides a wealth of beautifully organised cool looking data. Goals can be set, and trends observed. According to ‘The Gadget Show’ the steps measurement was the most accurate of devices tested and I agree with that. Sleep and quality of sleep is also measured giving a previously unseen insight into yourself at rest.
Summary: The best thing about the Jawbone UP is that it makes looking after yourself easier. It has excellent integration with other apps and it's actually quite satisfying plugging it into my iphone to sync. I think there's a new one out that sync's via bluetooth as well. I've had mine a while and use it to track mood, food and activity - the food database is a brilliant timesaver.
Summary: I know there's problems with the sleep tracking, but people are more interested in their day activities. My children bought this device for my birthday, they were very worried about my health and severe weight issues, if my children were prepared to pay that amount I had to give it a go, it's changed my life completely, in 12 weeks I've managed to loose a mighty 36lb.
Summary: I wanted this product since the first gen but it didn't come to the UK until march 2013 when I was finally able to purchase it. Worked like a charm until June and the battery dropped dead. In total the product lasted exactly 3 months, which isn't all that good for a £100 bracelet. Instead of getting a replacement mostly due to a lack of interest I forgot about it and never got a replacement until today. We will see if it shares the same fate as the previous one.
Summary: I really liked the idea of this device and when it worked it was fine even if the data was a bit inaccurate and not very useful. The family have had two of these devices. One had a battery issues and the other died within weeks. Support were very nice and said that a replacement would be sent. Still waiting after 4 weeks and numerous phone calls. Appalling . Maybe Apple could do a better job in the product category.
Summary: The up band is great, I am always telling people how brilliant it is, I should get paid by jawbone for selling them! They are great that is until they break, frequently. The apple shop are very good, whenever I bring the jawbone back they exchange it no problem. It's tiring though, the band seems to last just over a month before something goes wrong, the problems I have had include; the band stops registering sleep, the band does not hold charge, the bands indicator...
Summary: Device lasted 2 weeks, before it couldnt retain a charge. It would appear that the second iteration of this device is just as problematic. I had no success with Jawbone support at all, gave up and threw it in the bin. Very, very surprised that apple stocks this product. I would advise no-one to buy this product.
Summary: The Up is not bad, it seems quite accurate and the app is beautiful - but ultimately it gets in the way. It gets in the way when you're using a laptop dragging and scratching on the front of the laptop wrest as you type and mouse. It gets in the way when you're putting on a sweater or tight jacket. It gets in the way and falls off when you're trying to sleep (most nights I'd find it lost in my bed or on the floor beside the bed).
Summary: The concept is good but the least they could have done is incorporate the extremely low power Bluetooth 4.0, as the headphone jack concept is outdated and inconvenient. Regardless.. I bought two UP bands and both stopped charging within 3 months. considering that Jawbone admitted a FAIL with the Gen 1 UP, the similar widespread problems that everyone is having with the Gen 2 UP amply illustrate that the company has not learnt from its previous quality failings.
Summary: I brought it from UK apple physical store as HK shop's shipping time was 1 months. honestly specking, the design and functionality is great. however, it is just unstable. i guess there is some design defect. i can see a lot of customer facing the same problem. i am not considering to switch to whitings' product. it is a pity.
