Garbled robots

Audie Q, Staples
11 July 2014
  • Excerpt: I purchased this, my first Jawbone bluetooth because it was a good price on a Staples daily deal. Unfortunately, there were many things lacking with this item. First and foremost, the voice quality was terrible! Especially when speaking to someone also using a Jawbone. We sounded like garbled robots and we needed to take the Jawbone's off in order to understand each other. Second, it was quite uncomfortable in my ear. So much so, that it kept falling out.

nice idea, noisy, poor software, little updates

  • Summary: I've been on the search for the best bluetooth headset having had many.  The headphone style work well for music but not for voice.  After the top reviews of the Era I purchased and its been the worst headset I've ever owned.
  • Pros: size, features
  • Cons: sound quality, dropping bluetooth connection, speaker going silent

Not worth the money

bennyhill5, CNET

  • Summary: Has to be the worst Jawbone headset ever produced. This headset is totally unusable. Everyone you talk to ask to please repeat yourself or please just use the phone itself.
  • Pros: light weight
  • Cons: product is un-usable

Not impressed

Ed, Staples
3 April 2014
  • Excerpt: No range. Don't get to far from your phone. You can't leave your phone in the car or in another room in your house and walk around hands free. If I have the headset in my left ear and put the phone in my right pocket it gets scratchy. It is also too heavy for the earbud to hold it in place unless you are sitting still. You have to use the earhook so as not to lose it. If I hadn't misplaced my receipt it would have been returned.

Horrible Ear Piece

dc137pd, CNET
2 March 2014
  • Summary: Jawbone has made better headsets. this one misses the mark like a golfer putting his ball into the water. their previous version of the Era was much better. Very disappointed in Jawbone for the lousy quality of the workings of this device. build quality is good but the problems outshine the build quality. The charging case is a good idea but the battery life make it a necessity and this isn't what you should get from a bluetooth headset. Going back to my Bose headset.
  • Pros: good fit but only one left ear gel
  • Cons: where to start?, 1. Horrible Battery life. turned the unit on - 4 hours talk time remaining. went to the store 10 minutes away - 2 hours talk time remaining with a fully charged battery., 2. sound quality is abysmal, 3. Volume is very low even on high

  • Cons: People cannot hear me due to bad call quality.

Jawbone lost me as a customer for good.

RoadkingVin, CNET
31 January 2014
  • Summary: Product came in cheap shipping envelope. Ordered optional charger, but neither the unit nor charger comes with a wall adapter to plug it in. Only one left ear piece. Never will buy a Jawbone product again, and will tell the world about my experience. The Jawbone company seems to be under new management. It used to be top shelf, but now is total opposite. They have good products but no regard for customers.
  • Pros: Good fit and function.
  • Cons: Worst online shopping experience. No way to compare new Era with previous models. Site says ships in one day, it took a week to ship and another week to deliver. Call center no help and caused more frustration.

The product was terrible.

  • Summary: Not happy with the era at all. The Era picked up all of the back ground noise and the features didn't work properly. I traded down for the Icon, also made by Jawbone and I'm extremely happy the Icon.

  • Summary: Bought this item because it guaranteed better/best quality in sound with low noise interference. Had bad experiences with previous blue tooth items. THIS ONE IS NO DIFFERENT !!!!! Very disappointed. Hard to use...difficult to keep in place...moves around when touched. Don't know when I will ever find a blue tooth type earpiece that will allow me to work freely hands free !!!! UGH ! HELP !!!!!!
