Review: Incase Sonic is a solid all-around headphone

Macworld
12 October 2012
  • Conclusion: The Sonic is not an audiophile headphone, but it’s not intended to be. Still, its sound has no glaring faults—it’s natural, balanced, and easy to listen to—and its light weight and large, soft earpads make it comfortable for long listening sessions. In addition, the Sonic’s design is distinctive, clever in its hiding of moving bits, and, yes, beautiful. At its usual street price of around $100, the Sonic is a great value, particularly if design is a high priority.

Sonic Over Ear Headphones Review

Maclife

  • Conclusion: Over ear headphones aren’t for everyone, but Sonic offers tight sound coupled with extreme comfort, at a very reasonable price. We wouldn’t mind a little more clarity from the midrange, but otherwise, these cans offer a listening experience that sounds as good as it looks.
  • Pros: Lightweight, adjustable, and easy to wear for extended periods of time. Good bass and treble response. Detachable audio cables with convenient angled plug.
  • Cons: No clear designation for left or right ears (the manual notes audio cable should hang from left ear). Midrange a little muffled to our ears. Pastel color schemes may not be to everyone’s taste. Headphones do not collapse for travel.
