Griffin TuneBuds

PC Magazine
8 January 2009
  • Conclusion: For those who want to upgrade their iPod earbuds without spending much, Griffin's TuneBuds are a decent option, but even $30 seems a little high for what these earphones offer.
  • Pros: Inexpensive. Offers some passive noise isolation.
  • Cons: Mediocre sound quality. Flimsy design. Intense cable thump makes it a poor choice for gym use.

Griffin Tunebuds

What Hi-Fi?
12 May 2008
  • Excerpt: It's testament to how poor the iPod's bundled earphones are, that even these £8 Griffin s are a significant improvement. You get a pair of fairly solid-feeling earphones, complete with a zip-up case and three pairs of silicone tips. Sound-wise they boast a big presentation with lots of deep bass. In fact, the low end is somewhat overbearing and fat, while treble sounds a bit sharp when pushed. However, vocals are clear, and delivery is reasonably detailed and direct.
  • Pros: Amazingly cheap, solid-feeling, big presentation, deep bass
  • Cons: Overbearing and fat low end, strident treble
