Summary: Now that I have subjected them to ample break-in time, I can say these headphones are exactly what I expected: Crystal-clear detail and involving musicality to go with bomb-proof build quality. Good with both digital and analog sources. Grado is it for headphones (and phono cartridges...)
Pros: Kaleidoscopic detail, great for any music.
Cons: Didn't come with a $10k all-tube stereo system...
Summary: These are great headphones. Sound is amazing. I did purchased the C-Cush for them for more comfort. But for the music I listen to, they are amazing.
Pros: Light in weight Good Comfort Amazing sound
Cons: When I got them I had to take a q-tip to really clean them...Grado let these go out pretty messed up with 'glue' on them or something but after a clean up they are good to go. The wire that leads to one of the ear cups is kind of crimped, I didn't want to deal with an exchange so I kept them and ...
Summary: They are everything reviews say they are. Dynamic, fun, detailed, and for a Grado a good amount of bass oomph. Clearly I'm not a professional reviewer, but I've own a lot of headphones in my time and these are clear favorites.
Pros: Sound quality, build quality, they look and sound amazing.
Cons: For home or office-use only (if you have your own office and can shut the door), comfort.
Summary: Grado headphones are known for putting you "on stage" with the musicians with a rich, melodious, fast presentation and distict nudge toward treble. They seem to have done something a bit different here, and I love it.
Pros: Revealing, musical, fun, and engaging
Cons: a bit heavy and on some tracks, bass overcomensates
Summary: I had the interesting experience of trying both the original PS500 and the PS500e due to having to return the PS500 for one of the ear cups falling off (which didn't stop me for a second from loving those phones).
Summary: In my headphone collection I have the higher end of the Sennheiser, AKG, Monster Beats lines along with the Grado 325sI's. The PS500's far outstrip the performance of my other phones. The sound is incredibility accurate. There is zero coloration. Listening to all types of music, the sound is superb.
Pros: The sound quality is warm and very balanced/no coloration. Well Built Comfortable to wear Works great without a dedicated headphone amp.
Summary: I have several headphones besides the PS-500, and I've reviewed some of them, so I should find it easy to describe the PS-500, yes? Maybe not. By now I've discovered that my "other" headphones fall into the category of "polite" ear speakers.
Summary: These headphones have, within the few days that I've owned them, changed the way that I listen to music. As a music lover and amateur musician, I have loved using headphones since my teenage years as I've always felt more able to discern details that were missed on speakers (unless they were very...
