Focal Spirit Classic and Professional headphones review
28 June 2014
Excerpt: Focal (pronounced foe-kal) may not be a name consumers are familiar with, but they should be. Focal is a French maker of high-end (expensive) speakers. Their award-winning design and sound are famous among the upper-crust audiophile crowd. The Focal Grande Utopia EM speakers look like nothing else and their $180,000 per pair price looks like nothing else either.
Pros: Classic:, Almost perfect for most people, Warm sound, Rich looking, Very comfortable, Professional:, More accurate sounding than Classic, Industrial look, Tough build, Nice, long cords for both
Cons: Expensive, Pouches could be better for the money
Focal Spirit One, Spirit Classic & Spirit Professional review
9 April 2014
Excerpt: Focal is one of the most powerful companies in the loudspeaker market, making mainly domestic hi-fi speakers and car audio components. Everything is produced in France under one roof, or rather several to be more precise. The scale of production has forced the company to build a large complex of factories and laboratories and take over the cabinet factory where most expensive enclosures are manufactured.
Excerpt: French company Focal is well known in the hi-fi world and also for its studio monitors. It says that its new Spirit Professional headphones benefit from their 34 years manufacturing speaker drivers and loudspeakers.
