Summary: Do not buy any of ER's products unless you like to waste your hard earned cash on overpriced junk. Yes, junk. I owned ER6i and two pairs of ER4 headphones, they all sucked. Cable break at the 'y', a known problem with ER. The wires are so flimsy, no surprise. The real kicker is that this company has the nerve to charge $50 plus shipping to replace a $2 plastic wire.
Summary: The build quality is absolutely pathetic. I bought three pairs in as many years. The latest set is now mute in one of the buds, due to flimsy construction near the moulded plastic housing at the top of the lead. It seems that they can't cope with daily use. I hoped to find an earlier pair which had fractured further down the lead, so I could frankenstein a working set together. I must have binned the previous pair. Pity. They sound great, but don't bother. Utter rubbish.
Etymotic ER4P's - nice case, shame about the phones!

Summary: Etymotic ER-4P Isolator In-Earphones Very disappointed with this product. Incredibly microphonic, even with shirt-clip and cable winder listening spoiled by thud of footsteps and russle of phones when walking. Completely unsuitable for listening on the move. Tinny sound. Even when i fully inserted flanges these were bass light and lacking in body. Finally, very uncomfortable.
Summary: At £148 these have to be my WORST purchase on Amazon. Yes, the sound is clear and crisp but no matter how the earbuds are positioned in the ears (following the manufacturers instructions and a few more creative manouvers) there's ABSOLUTELY NO BASS! (The pair I received were black as opposed to red and blue as shown on Amazon.
