Summary: These retail at 300$ .
I got them for 80$ here.
For the price i paid - they are extremely good.
The sound is clear and neutral.
The soundstage is good for a closed can, the bass is punchy and tight, the mids are extremely good with lots of details.
Pros: neutral sound(no treble or bass boost), clear mids, smooth and laidback highs.
Summary: The AH-D340 is the entry level model in the Music Maniac series, followed up by the D600 & D7100. The headphone is also promoted as a portable solution for music lovers. The 40mm driver provides very good performance and clarity.
Pros: beautiful mids, excellent detail with no bass bloat!
Cons: Neutral presentation, especially in the bass region - may not be for all! looks and portability.
Excerpt: For 2013, Denon has added a smaller, more-affordable model to its Music Maniac collection of headphones. Visually, the $300 D340 looks similar to its more-expensive big brother, the AH-D600, and features equally attractive styling, which means you won’t be mistaken for a DJ with these phones on.
Conclusion: Our only real problem with the AH-D340 is that the D600 cost almost the same price. We prefer the latter headphones overall, but mostly because they suit our home-based usage more. The D340 sound nearly as good though, and for those who want to take their headphones out and about they are perfect.
