Excerpt: I own a few pairs of cans and among these, the HD650 and a backup Klipsch. As I have left my HD650 home, I got fed up with my spare Klipsch cans, so went out shopping. As I already own the Senn's I was looking for something different. I had the opportunity to test AKG, Bose, Sennheisser, Denon, Beyerdynamic, Beats Pro and a few others. After 1 hour of testing I made my choice for my budget and I chose the AH-D2000.
Summary: As other reviewers have reported, these headphones sound unbelievably good - the clarity of sound is amazing, and the bass very rounded. The build quality appears excellent - leather phone covers and over the headband, beautiful chromed metal and brushed aluminium throughout - they feel solid, and pleasant to hold. The huge catch, as one other chap has reported, is that they break - VERY VERY easily.
Summary: a pity the sound quality is totally made null and void by the build quality. there is a fundamental fault with the pins holding the earphones to the headband. i have had both just 'pop!' and the earphones just fall from the headband. quite embarrassing when it happens in front of friends you just told how wonderful they are and how much you paid for them. the pins are made from inferior brittle metal that cannot stand everyday wear, or anyday wear come to think of it.
