Great Sound Sturdy USB Adaptable
Mark C., Newegg
24 September 2012
Summary: The flat cord is neat, not my favorite feature though. The USB adapter saved my bacon on a laptop when the sound card actually died, USB bypassed the sound card and I was g2g. The headset is large enough to block out some noise, not all, but makes studying in a commons area bearable.
Pros: Especially for those without a dedicated sound card - USB to 3.5mm is great For an audiophile like me these drivers produce good highs and decent lows Comfortable to wear - hours at a time Provides a surround gaming experience - BF3, CS, MW...
Cons: Microphone is a bit cumbersome, though all I've chatted with mention the clarity is good Cord may not be entirely secure inside the headset, kids pulled on it a bit and lost sound in right ear (reason for egg-loss). RMA'd and replaced through newegg (NEWEGG ROCKS) 2nd pair going strong for 6 mont...
Summary: I was a little underwhelmed at first when I first tried the headset with the provided THX adapter. It was good but not quite what I was expecting. So from there I plugged it into my sound card. There was an immediate, noticable difference in quality.
Pros: - Great sound quality - Very comfortable - Clear Mic - 3.5 jacks or usb - decent noise cancelling - flat ribbon cable
Cons: - THX usb adapter produces "okay" sound quality. - Cable could have been a foot or two longer.
Summary: I'm a gamer who cares about sound (I've been spoiled by an X-Fi Xtremegamer for years and immediately hear differences in Realtek), but not as much as an audiophile to get a seperate headPHONE and standalone microhpone then you're in a pretty small niche category nowaways.
Pros: - 3.5mm jacks. VERY IMPORTANT. Read "Other Thoughts." - Steel band gives confidence in overall fitting of headset, I broke 2 Plantronics' headset bands (don't get me wrong I still love their products) because my head is kinda too big I guess. - Pleather feels absolutely fantastic, and even better...
Cons: - Flimsy ribbon cable. I taped my wire halfway up under my keyboard drawer just to be safe from chair leg crushing it or pulling it out. - Mini pop filter over mic comes off more easily... considering to glue it down, lol! - Wouldn't have minded if cable was maybe 1ft. or 2ft. longer. Still suffi...
Summary: I read some other people's reviews of these headphones after I bought them... kinda backwards I guess. Some people took issue with the unusual flat cable which is advertised as helping with tangling and such.
Pros: -Sound quality is really good and everything sounds very crisp. Until I got these I had been using really old junky desktop speakers that I got a long time ago. When I listen to songs that I've heard hundreds of times I hear things that I haven't ever heard in the songs. The difference between th...
Cons: -The cord is a bit short for my purposes and I end up accidentally pulling the cable out of the THX dongle. I have a completely wireless setup for my computer along with a projector so I can be the laziest man on earth and surf from bed (I swear I'm not one of those people you see on Nat Geo) whi...
Summary: This is a great headset for the price, and does yeoman's work. I would recommend it for a gamer who is anything other than super intense - if you have a custom gaming rig, you may want something a little fancier, but anyone else will be happy with the job this does.
Pros: -Super comfortable, even for long hours of use (and over my glasses!) -Mic quality is very good and clear -Audio quality compares favorably to my old headset, which was triple the price -Cable stays flat and out of your way
Cons: -Software is hard to install - the website is really unclear and it took me a while to find the program I needed -USB interface with the fancy audio enhancement stuff is unreliable and does not have noticeable impact - I just plugged my headset in directly and got similar or better results
Not as good as i was expecting, but worth the price i paid.

Summary: I would recommend this headset if you can get a good price, I wouldn't pay more than 65$ for this set including shipping and tax. Another thing is that these ARE stereo headphones, it is advertised that "THX TruStudio Pro Surround delivers truly 3D audio surround effects to give you the gaming...
Pros: At first I was disappointed with the headset, but after some use and tuning with the THX audio settings they began to sound really great. These DO sound pretty good, I don't notice a big difference between these and my Razer Moray+'s in sound quality but they do have a bigger punch and are more c...
Cons: Where to start... First impression out of the box was that they feel cheap. They just have this light plastic feel to them i wasn't expecting. The Mic isn't very good.. i mean it sounds clear but the problem is that even with all the mic settings turned to 100% and the mic adjusted directly in fr...
Summary: I bought these, burned them in, loved them for the few months I got to use them. Then, randomly, the right channel started intermittently cutting out. A few days of this, and the sound in that channel completely cut out.
Pros: Great sound Functional software Doesn't use much CPU (USB sound card)
Pros: I found the headset to be a great buy overall. Always have liked Creative products and the streak continues. Sturdy design and Comfortable. The THX sounds great and good bass hits. Mic seems to work good but haven't tested extensively.
Cons: Mic is really hard to remove, just fits too snug. Feel like I'm going to break it when removing. Also the THX software for the dongle isn't included. So you have to go to Creative's site to download. Which is ok.... but it took 3hrs to download from their site! -1 egg for Creative's SLOW site.
