Beware of Creative Headsets
Joel K., Newegg
5 February 2013
Summary: If you want good sound, go ahead and buy these. If you want a good headset with a working microphone, stay the hell away from Creative. Their quality control and support are absolutely dreadful to deal with. Just because they may be affordable, now I'll be paying full price for broken junk that doesn't work.
Pros: Great sound quality.
Cons: Do not buy if intended for use as a headset. Microphone volume is VERY low, friends can barely hear me on Skype with microphone volume at 100%. After about 15 minutes voice gets quieter over time, to be replaced by heavy screeching static. After a month of canned replies I was finally able to get an RMA in place. Same exact issue occurred with the new headset upon receipt. This is now the third bad Creative headset I have purchased in the last six months. Unfortunatel...
Summary: Received my RMA, headset still has issues on my system, I will have to buy another kind of headphones since Newegg will not refund my money. Lesson learned.
Pros: Decent sound. Headphones have a metal strap, so they seem sturdy.
Cons: The inline THX adapter will not work if you have a X-fi Titanium or Xtreme gamer sound card, so you have to use the 3.5mm plugs instead. Microphone would not work, plugged it directly into my computer and it worked fine, will not work when plugged into the headset. So you can't use the inline mute button either. Headphone cord seems flimsy.
Cons: Within Less than a week the mic wiring started producing static. The mic itself is fine when connected directly but through the head set it produces lots of static. I should have listened to the other reviewers that had similar problems.
Summary: i should have put my money in a astro headset. this headset is junk after a couple day of use. I regret buying this headset and should have invest my money to a better brand. I should have listen to all the warning others have voice that one side of earphone will stop working.
Pros: Mix metal and plastic composite frame. adjustable earphone. nice cushion.
Cons: flismy wiring causing one side of the earphone to stop working while the other side you can hear some sound. this same build quality of purchase from 99 cent store earphones that stop working about a day of purchase because of chinese quality build.
Summary: i will be returning this i wore it for about a week and took very good care of it babying it and keeping it on my desk very safely and i was very disappointed because the left ear stopped working after only a week of very light use the mic died on the second day and the software that comes with it is terrible and the item is hardly functional with out the software. PLEASE DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I DID BY BUYING THIS ITEM!!!!!!
Pros: comfortable descent bass (while it lasted)
Cons: very cheap feeling everything other than bass sounds bad MIC IS HORRENDOUS left ear cup stopped working in a week
