The hardware itself is very nice, and feels well made

Anthony T., Amazon
18 October 2014
  • Summary: The hardware itself is very nice, and feels well made. The only problem is I've had to restart the computer more times in the last 3 days than I have in the previous month. It develops random popping/echo in World of Warcraft that only rebooting has solved. That and it'll just randomly not produce ANY audio for some reason until I once again reboot. Unplugging and replugging in the unit does nothing. I'm not sure if this is a Win8.1 problem or the device itself.

Attention to detail not there

Sean, Amazon
22 September 2014
  • Summary: There were some initial issues updating the firmware on the Recon3D unit but that was resolved. Overall sound quality is decent. The cushions are comfortable for an hour or two of use but since it's closed condensation starts to build and becomes uncomfortable. The microphone picks up sound very well and is crystal clear.

  • Summary: ive noticed that every time windows updates it over rides the audio drivers. (windows 8) I would jump on in the moring and find out from my buddys in teamspeak that my mic was sounding extreamly weird. so I would restart and see oh look a windows up date right on. once my system finished and restarted my head phones would not work any more , after allot of fiddling around I found out that I needed to reminstall the drivers and the frame ware ..

AMAZING SOUND QUALITY

Amazoner, Amazon
5 February 2014
  • Summary: I received this headset on the 30th of January this year. I was ELATED to finally get them as I had read and researched so much about them and had determined that they were the best gaming headset on the market. I use them for my PS4 which works perfectly with the chat as well. Why 3 stars?

Not sure what to think about these headphones

davidst95, Amazon
31 January 2014
  • Summary: This headphones take some time to set up. When I connect the Recon3D to the PC with the USB cable I get crackling and popping sounds. I ended connecting it using the optical cable which seem to fix the problem. I can change all the settings through the sound Pro Studio software but when I test it inside the software I get the crackling and popping.

  • Summary: By Engr. Jay Mendoza This product is actually a bundle of [Recon3d Sound Blaster] and [Tactic3D Omega Headset]. I did ask a lot from Creative before buying this particular "bundle". Here are the key differences: Bundle o Includes a proprietary wireless transceiver that plugs DIRECTLY to a proprietary slot on the [Recon3d Sound Blaster]. Separately o Includes a stand for the headset. o Includes a USB (non-Recon3D sound quality) transceiver.

Disappointing yet great

Creative
6 December 2011
  • Summary: By TheMysterion I used this product for the ps3 and the product description fails to mention that the surround sound is exclusive to PC. The consoles have amplified surround sound instead. I was very disappointed about spending $200 on an amplified surround sound headset. To have the full surround sound, I needed to buy the recon 3d which is said to have tactic link in the description for linking with this headset but the tactic link does not come unless the two are...

Not worth 200

Andrew D., Newegg
2 December 2011
  • Summary: Overall, if you have a sound card, don't waste your money on this. It will completely render your soundcard useless. If you're looking for a wireless headset and have multiple machines, maybe give it a try, but I don't think the 200 is worth it for this headset.
  • Pros: If you're looking for wireless, it's a nice headset. Sounds are good with no pc sound card. Fair range on the wireless headset. I can walk anywhere in my 2000 sq ft home and hear everything fine. Headset was pretty comfortable sitting on my head.
  • Cons: While it sounds nice, you can hear sounds fade in and out while either gaming or using some sort of VOIP such and Vent, TS, or Mumble. This is especially more noticable on the VOIP services. Yes, yes, I know these are suppose to have built in soundcards, but I have a sound card on my pc that pretty high end. You can only plug this thing in to a pc via USB (not the headset itself, the wreless adapter). Also, I wasn't too fond of the mic part. I like flip down mics bett...

5 starts for PC buyers, 1 for PS3 owners.

  • Summary: By A. Reader These are some of the most comfortable best sounding earphones I have ever used. I could and have left them on for hours. Hooked up to a PC the music and effects are down right spectacular. They look really cool too (see my pics.) The sound in terms of highs and lows are as good as my Shures. Its rechargeble so that could be a plus for some people... But for a console owner almost all of the pros are canceled out by some really glaring ommisions.
