25 December 2010

Alright, but not very sturdy

Ross C., Newegg
29 November 2010
  • Summary: I thought about trying to RMA it after the USB Plug broke off, but I assume that Creative won't replace it since they won't even give you a new mic attachment.
  • Pros: Very clear sound quality, great bass. As good as my Sennheiser headphones for listening to music. Mic quality is alright, it sounds about as good as my Microsoft Lifechat on ventrilo.
  • Cons: Creative Customer support isn't very good - If you lose or break the flimsy mic attachment they won't offer a replacement, won't even let you buy a new one. (I'd pay like 20$ for a mic attachment, but they apparently can't offer apart from the headset) - you have to buy a whole new one The USB Pl...

They were awesome for a month

Timothy G., Newegg
24 November 2010
  • Summary: I loved these... ;-(. Now I feel like I threw $50 in the trash
  • Pros: Sound was great ... Mic was easy to setup. Comfortable to wear for about an hour.
  • Cons: The USB snapped clean off. I accidentally yanked the cord, so I'm to blame, but it's easy to do. The USB sticks out a good 2 inches. I recommend getting a USB extension cable just for stress relief if you buy this. Could save you from breaking it too.

UN-COMFORTABLE

William O., Newegg
2 November 2010
  • Summary: Great sound, poor design work. -1 for Creative Labs
  • Pros: Has great sound, easy setup and the mike is clear and easy to adjust. In-Game you can hear everything and very little outside noise.
  • Cons: Any of the surround sound headphones are heavy, goes with the territory. But the narrow hard head band on this set will dig into your scalp making extended use a real pain. I will be looking into a different headset soon and maybe give this set to one of my kids. Perhaps I can make another pad to...

Good But.....

David R., Newegg
10 October 2010
  • Summary: Would give a 5/5 if it has consistent sound quality buy the standard audio jack style
  • Pros: Great sound quality, decent software included with EQ settings Etc.
  • Cons: Stupid crackling / popping randomly, depends when the computer is changing threads. It will do this on any of my systems. This is because of the less system priority for usb devices. Creative support is nonexistent.

horrible sound but it gets the job done

David Z., Newegg
2 October 2010
  • Summary: It gets the job done, but I can't say I'd recommend this product to anyone that I knew personally.
  • Pros: Output mic sound is okay. Comfy.
  • Cons: Awful, horrible, dismal sound quality. The highs aren't high enough and the lows aren't low enough. This is exceedingly disappointing as I enjoy listening to music, playing video games, and watching movies on a regular basis. It's a shame that I didn't research this product further.

Decent

Benjamin N., Newegg
1 October 2010
  • Summary: Microphone can be a little tricky to place right for me, but it stays in place fine. I wish the microphone would get out of the way a little better for storage.
  • Pros: Sound is okay Inline volume up/down can be handy USB drivers work decently with Win7 for the most part; unplug and sound goes back to the speakers.
  • Cons: Sometimes sound will get stuck trying to output to the headset, especially when waking from sleep.

Great newegg , terrible Creative sounds

Anonymous, Newegg
23 September 2010
  • Summary: When the headset works there fantastic. Works on my Gaming pc no problem on the first install. Went to install on laptop and have had nothing but problems. Sounds popping distorting and music isn't even recognizable. Creative website is a JOKE!!!
  • Pros: When the headset works there fantastic. Brought a entire new experience to gaming to me. Bought after reading the review over at bit-tech and the price for performance was unmatchable.
  • Cons: Not the most solid headset and plastic does feel little cheap. I am also worried about the wish bone design that comes over the ears cause looks like a week point in the future. Creative sounds Support is non- existent!!

Hurts my head

Daniel E., Newegg
19 August 2010
  • Summary: Don"t get caught up in the hype for these cans
  • Pros: Sound great! Big improvement over my turtle beach headphones.
  • Cons: Not nearly as comfortable as my turtle beach headphones. bought the comPlexity edition. Big deal. There is no reference at all to comPlexity edition on headset or box either, for that matter. Lack of comfort will eventually cause me to look around for something else.

So nice, but with one big drawback..

Robert S., Newegg
23 July 2010
  • Pros: Excellent sound reproduction. Downloadable drivers worked fine on Windows 7 64 bit. 8 foot cord.
  • Cons: Anyone with a sensitive scalp should probably avoid these headphones. The headband is rounded, instead of being flat as with all of my other headphones. The cushioning is not very soft. After 45 minutes I realized my head hurt where the headband pressed against it. I tried repositioning it but no...
