Great, for a while

Patrick P., Newegg
29 November 2010
  • Pros: Great sound, Comfortable, Mic works great. All is super at the beginning.
  • Cons: Volume control module has a short of some kind after 6 months of gentle use. Mic is now intermittant. Also causes static anytime it's touched. Disappointed.

Sounds ok, mic broke too easily

Terry R., Newegg
11 November 2010
  • Pros: Sound is ok. USB was nice.
  • Cons: Microphone only lasted about two months. Poor value for the money. I would definately never buy this headset again.

Headset works well, Mic broke

Kurt B., Newegg
27 October 2010
  • Summary: I'd give it 4 or 5 stars if the mic hadn't broken and I could by a spare. But, I will only give it 2, as I paid a chunk of change for this Creative Labs Sound Blaster Arena headset with a mic, and now I'm stuck with big white cans on my head and no microphone.
  • Pros: I needed a closed-back headset for work (a sea of cubes) that sounded good and had a microphone (I use Skype often). These worked on my MacBook Pro and my linux Ubuntu Karmic system (it was picky about which USB port I used on linux). They sounded good, and the big white Storm Trooper cans let pe...
  • Cons: The microphone snapped in two while in my backpack, and apparently Creative Labs does not sell replacements. It's a lot of money to spend for something this brittle.

Great sound, Bad durability.

Mr. M., Newegg
19 October 2010
  • Summary: I bought these as a shellshock deal here, even though after the failure of an experience I have had with creative in the past (attempting) to get a sound card RMA left me with a bitter taste in my mouth, vowing to myself that I would not buy creative again. Thankfully corsair makes headsets now.
  • Pros: -Sounds great -Fairly comfortable...
  • Cons: Durability on the ear piece is terrible. The part that holds the earpiece to the bad is very thing and, as was the case with mine, wears overtime and eventually breaks. So now I have a headset held together by duct tape. If only creative had a better RMA department...

Decent Sound, Low on Features

Chris S., Newegg
17 October 2010
  • Summary: Probably won't buy another pair.
  • Pros: Earpads are soft and comfy. Isolate room sound effectively, and focus the sound nicely into the ear. Simulated surround effect is decent. USB interconnect is easy on any PC. Works with Win7.
  • Cons: Padding on over-head support is minimal. They start to dig into your head after even a short amount of use. Volume is extremely high and is adjustable only through Windows controls. I tended to have them set at 7 (of 100). No strain relief. A tripped over the cable and ripped the plug right off o...

The Good and Bad

Mark B., Newegg
16 October 2010
  • Summary: I really like the USB headset but i would have to say look somewhere else for one this one seems to be flawed.
  • Pros: I like the way the headset feels and the way it picks up sound, the Idea of the heat set its great however there are some flaws.
  • Cons: (I have two one as a backup)I have had to return this headset once to new egg, and once to creative and now I am sending it back to creative yet again. There service was prompt however the headset they set me back the writing seems to be loose in the volume control area cuz when i move that area ...

USB Connector Weak

Melissa K., Newegg
30 August 2010
  • Summary: If this is an indication of the level of customer support provided by Creative I will never purchase another product of theirs. I have been building systems for 20 years and have always used them. No longer
  • Pros: Very comfortable. Decent simulated surround sound. Very good mic quality.
  • Cons: The USB connector fell apart after six months. Have been trying to get Creative to respond to an RMA request for two weeks with no luck.

Nice, for the little time they worked

floyd, Newegg
19 August 2010
  • Summary: As much as I like the headphones itself, it was not worth buying these. I should have gone for wireless headset instead. To have to spend money on shipping every few months on RMA'ing, and then have to wait another month to receive it, I do regret buying these.
  • Pros: Very comfortable. I take that back, extremely comfortable. After gaming, I will have these on for another hour with no sound from any media, and only on occasion do I notice that I'm still wearing them. Sound is pretty impressive also. Notice a huge difference when I'm by myself watching movies o...
  • Cons: Had to RMA twice. The usb part itself is not fashioned very well with the rest of the product. The first RMA was about 4 months after purchasing when the usb plug completely disconnected itself. I plug it into the front of my Antec 1200 case where there is always plenty of slack where I'm sitting...

Great head set if it works

Andrew C., Newegg
16 August 2010
  • Summary: It is a great headset aside from that, if you do get it you BABY the usb connector like it is your great grandmas china.
  • Pros: This head set is great amazing sound, great voice and comfortable (even for my big ol head).
  • Cons: My second one just broke and all for the same reasons, the solder connections at the usb port. I do not want to sound arrogant and haughty but i am 3 classes away from from getting my electrical engineering degree so i know something about electronics. And the hardware quality on this thing is aw...

It was great until it broke a month later.

Frank M., Newegg
21 July 2010
  • Summary: I took great care of this headset. I didn't drop it once, I made sure I didn't yank the cable and I didn't throw it either. I probably got the single bad one, two of my friends have these and have not had any problems.
  • Pros: Great sound quality, the insulation blocks out most outside noise.
  • Cons: The headset broke just over a month after I ordered them; the left speaker is completely nonfunctional. Luckily, Creative Studios has a warranty on this product so I can exchange it. I will raise to 4 eggs if the replacement does not have any problems.
