The present HS-600 Headset is unacceptable

Creative
11 January 2013
  • Summary: By DWIGHT RAY NICHOLS To large, heavy and bulky... This was absolutely not anything near what I was expecting. In the past, a HS-600 headset meet all my needs but the present design is absolutely NOT USEABLE.

Great Sound.

Creative
27 August 2012
  • Summary: By latinomanz It has a great sound, sounds just like theater. The downside is that they are too tight sometimes. I wear them for 10 mins consecutive, then I gotta take them off for like 5 seconds and put them back on for another 10 mins. Other days I can wear them for hours non-stop. If you have worn tight headphones before then I highly recommend you this, else you might think twice before buying this.

My user experience

Creative
8 May 2012
  • Summary: By 2stepbay "2stepbay" Used the HS-600 this AM for a Skype call on a MacBook Pro. The headset has 2 prong settings - one for mic, the other for speaker. I connected them into a USB Plantronics stick. Sound recorded clearly, however, I could not hear my voice through the headset. Tried various settings and also on my iMac, however, problem persists. Not sure if this is a defect in this particular headset, or a flaw in design?

Trouble with microphone

Creative
27 May 2010
  • Summary: By Moose "moose" I would absolutely love this product if only the microphone worked. It barely picks up my voice at all and what you can hear sounds terrible. Just a lot of static. My webcam microphone works 100 times better. I've tried it on two different computers. It wouldn't work at all on my laptop and was not the quality I would expect on my desktop. I'm truly bummed because I've always loved Creative products and have never had any issues.

Superb, but VERY, VERY, VERY, VERY painful to wear!

Creative
5 October 2009
  • Summary: By David W. Galbraith So you have to stick some kind of spacer underneath so that they don't squeeze TIGHTLY against your head regardless of the adjustments you make to it. In fact, the material they chose for the ear pads (which you can't remove) is that of furniture upholstery and made my ears itchy as hell. They also trap heat badly. Just a stupid choice of material!

Great but hurts my ears

Creative
21 September 2009
  • Summary: By Margaret A. Nosek The quality of the microphone and audio is outstanding. It seems, however, to be much bigger and more cumbersome than necessary. The earpieces are very large and tight. I can't figure out how to get them to stop pinching my ears.

Creative HS 600 - Traditional wired headset and microphone for your multimedia needs!

Creative
1 November 2007
  • Summary: By Mark "Technology, Music and Movies" The Creative Headset HS-600 is a nice headset with headphones and a noise-cancelling microphone. Whether you're using it for gaming, chatting, teleconferencing or internet phone applications, this unit is well worth a look. The set is nicely designed for those that prefer the traditional over-the-head style of headset. The headphones sit firmly on your head, and the microphone head can be turned and adjusted closer to your mouth.

Decent sound, but very uncomfortable to wear

Dave S, Amazon
28 February 2010
  • Summary: I needed an all in one headset which I could use listen to audio/video but which also had a microphone for use on Skype. These looked pretty good value, and to be fair, the sound through the speakers is OK. Unfortunately, I found that wearing them for any amount of time was pretty close to impossible. The band which passes over over the top of the head squeezes too hard on the sides of the skull, leaving the head feel like it is being squashed in a vice.
