Creative EP-630 In-Ear Headphones

Mirai, Rate it all!
5 December 2008
  • Summary: It worked well for the couple months since I got it: isolated sound well in a loud environment, decent sound quality, came with three different ear size covers, and was generally a good deal for the price...except for the fact that today one of the earbuds stopped working! Now I only have sound in one ear after only a few months? Even if this isn't exactly a ton of money, it should still last out the year. Time for some new ear buds(from a different company of course).

  • Summary: Probably one of the more popular choices for canalphones under USD30. Bass: Decent quantity of impact for a canalphone, but the quality is rather bad. Think of it as a blunt pencil, as compared to that of the K501, which probably can be likened to that of a sharp pencil. Mids/Highs: Muffled, but at the price point, it's okay. Portability is rather good, given that they're small, and can take quite a bit of abuse.

Over rated at best

  • Summary: It's probably not fair to compare these to high-end in-ear headphones. I would only recommend these if you have to upgrade from stock headphones.
  • Pros: Inexpensive. I won't mind losing or breaking these since I got them on sale.
  • Cons: Feels cheap. The cabling on these are made of thin gauge rubber material that feel flimsy. They sound awful. I don't know what experience other have over other more expensive in-ear headphones, but these sound terrible compared to my low-end Shure EC2s. If you're looking for an artificial deep bassy sound then you might like these. But they don't compare to true sound reproduction.

Follow Up: Not Good

Anthony S., Newegg
16 September 2008
  • Summary: I checked the headphones and wires for damage, and nothing was found. I narrowed it down to either being shaken around in my pocket, which seems unlikely as they werent getting shaken around enough to break, so i figured it was just a faulty earbud. Since it was only $16 when i bought this set, im not going to bother with returning them. Just going to buy some in a store. Too bad Creative let me down on this one.
  • Pros: Sounded great, while they lasted. And still feel comfortable.
  • Cons: After using them for about 3 weeks, i noticed the right earbud stopped working correctly. The sound was still there, but it was so quiet, even on my MP3 Player's highest volume level.

  • Pros: Excellent reviews online and through a friend
  • Cons: Horrible experience! Have tried all three earbuds and all three have fallen out and that is just while walking around the house. Sound quality just isn't there. Didn't hear the base that the reviews claimed were there, mostly treble. Let my son also listen since my wife claims I am hard of hearing and he agreed with me. I have tried every conceivable angle trying to push these things in my ears until they are sore and nothing seems to work. Can't imagine trying to run...

Not worthy of the Creative name.

  • Summary: I recently purchased a Creative Zen V Plus which came with a set of ear buds. I was always impressed with the sound quality of the stock buds, but at the same time I thought that with a little extra cash, I could get something a little better. So I thought for sure that I could purchase a set of Creative ear buds and they should sound better than the stock... WRONG!!
  • Pros: More comfortable than most bundled MP3 player ear buds, 3 different sizes of tips for customized comfort. It's made by Creative Labs. Good price.
  • Cons: Absolutely terrible sound quality... Need I say more?

  • Pros: cheap/better bass than ipod earbuds
  • Cons: The cable is so thin that any movement is picked up through your ears....even the wind. These are not for athletic use.

  • Summary: These headphones, when used with my ipod touch, had a very annoying static sound whenever i did not have music playing or when i had the music very low. Would not recommend.
