Excerpt: I have purchased four pairs of these headphones now, and I find that they are great for Skype, Google Voice, video games, and any other thing that requires two-way communication on your computer without a bunch of feedback. The audio quality is great, and having the volume control knob on there with a long battery life makes them even better. The ear cushions are super soft which makes it easy to wear them all day.
Cons: Hissing. All the time. The forums for Corsair are full of it complaints about it too, with no solution. When you turn them on, you can hear a constant hiss, like the sound of a microphone feedback in an empty room. If you mute windows, or stop a song long enough, the hiss goes away (I think it causes the headset to "sleep" and save it's battery until the pc notifies it of more noises). But playing music or watching shows...the hiss is always there, but it hisses "less...
Cons: I have only one con and this seems to be an electrical issue with the sound. While charging you will hear a buzz or humm in the headset, it will go away if you ground yourself to your case or any good grounding source.
Summary: Packaging- When I first got mine the packaging left a little indent in the middle of the headband and it was a bit frustrating to try and take the headphones out without damaging the packaging (important if you want to try them and then take some pictures).
Pros: I will be going through these headphones with a fine toothed comb so please be patient with this review and if you just want a summation check out other.
Cons: This section will be significantly shorter than the pros and I put some cons in other because they are simply not features included and not necessarily shortcomings of the product.
Pros: This headset has blown all of my expectations away. I expected this headset to have some draw backs where the mic wouldn't come through the other party's end clearly but it does! The sound is incredible, i love how it can be adjusted with a simple program. I have not owned a headset made of this quality in a long time. I pay 99.99 for it but even for 149.99 it is definitely worth it! the 2.1, 5.1 and 7.1 can be changed on a fly and yes it is true Dolby surround.
Summary: • The microphone boom is NOT flexible. You will not be able to position the mic closer or further away from your mouth. You can still adjust up and down, just not in and out.
Pros: • Sound quality for the headphones is very good across nearly all frequencies, especially the mids.
Cons: • There was some crackling in the headphones at the 20Hz range. There is a nice Youtube video that can be used to test. Not an issue for me personally but if I’m going to review something I might as well run it through its paces.
