Summary: While this headset is decent quality, there are a number of problems with it that I feel the need to highlight. As other people have noted, cooler-master support is TERRIBLE, they will close your ticket after providing you with no solution to your problem.
Summary: Mediocre positional audio at best compared to a real 5.1 setup. 'Behind' voices are almost impossible to distuingish from 'in front'. Sound itself sounds muddy and tinny overall. Going back to 5.1 speakers, wife can stuff her ear plugs in further.
Summary: The microphone is garbage, people can barely understand you. There is always this static on the other end when your not talking. It is very noticeable and very irritating. Other than that they are very comfortable and have decent sound.
Summary: This headset is more trouble than it's worth; take it off your short list.
Pros: The headset itself is really comfortable. It's tough to gauge the audio quality because I've been using it for so long, but overall it was worked fine for gaming.
Cons: The tactical mixing station straight up does not work, and Cooler Master refuses to do anything about it. Since I have owned this product, their recommendation has been to switch to 3.5mm mode (plug it into your sound card instead of using the tactical mixing station they charged you for). It WIL...
Summary: If you want a good headset, I would recommend it, but it fails completely when it comes to the microphone. I'd recommend buying a separate microphone if needed.
Pros: Great sound and decent volume. Ability to adjust sound from front speaker and back speaker in the headset is nice.
Cons: Worst microphone on a headset. Stopped working and gave awful feedback for others within the first month of use. Had to purchase a desk microphone because the one on the headset was so awful. When it worked for the first part it was very quiet and had trouble picking up my voice.
Summary: I am considering the Creative Tactic Sigma, or Turtle beach Z6a, or even another Plantronics Gamecom. The only reason I was even looking for a new head set, was beacuse I sat on my old ones and broke them.
Pros: The overall build quality was great, its what I would expect from from Cooler Master. The lights on the side looked nice, matched my CM Storm Scout case. The Highs were perfect. Bass was clean. And thats all.
Cons: Why I give it two eggs, because The mid and Lows are just none existent. I used the USB with that controller, 3.5mm jacks, and I just could not clean up the audio. I will be taking them back to Fry's. My old Plantronics Gamecom headset sounds better, and it was just $40. Something at this price s...
Summary: They feel like $150.00 headsets, but sound really bad without a good sound card, and only decent with one.
Pros: I tried this headset out for a solid week. I've tested it using it's 5.1 USB Sound Adapter included, and using a 5.1 Sound Blaster X-Fi. 1. Construction is really good. High quality materials, braided cable, very sturdy desktop headset controller (heavy). Seems like it was made to last forever 2....
Cons: The sound is just not that good for a head set of this price. It's actually worse than the Creative Tactic 3D Sigmas I have. I also have studio head phones form AKG, and also use Sennheiser's HD 280 Pros. But, it's not really fair to compare it to non-gaming headsets except for the Creative Tacti...
Summary: This head set is alright but not the greatest. Since I first got it only the Front speakers worked. Also it has so many audio jacks that you have to plug in just for the speakers that you probably wont be able to have speakers with the headset if you wanted to.
Summary: Already shipped back to CM for a replacement that they swear will fix the problems. We'll see and if so then I will boost the overall rating. Until then this was a complete waste of my $$$$ as I'll be spending another $100 or so on another "gaming" headset.
Pros: sound is decent when not being over ran by squelching sounds, nice tight fit on my head..room to grow for when it wears down
Cons: LOUD squelching sounds at random times - seems to stop after playing with the connector from the puck to headset, but only sometimes. MIC IS COMPLETE TRASH....final warning! MIC IS TRASH..if you want for just gaming and no talking ur set.
