Be careful - misleading photo/ poor BOSE information
5 June 2013
Summary: The photo for this item is not clear enough to illustrate the standard stereo jack plug on both ends of the lead. My BOSE headphones (purchased three weeks ago) has a standard right-angled jack on the ipod connecting end BUT - its a non-standard smaller stereo jack that inserts into the BOSE headphones. My own fault - but I would rate BOSE as a tacky retailer for providing non-standard connections on part of its range.
I love the "real" product but the item I was sent seems to be counterfeit as it did not contain the serial number.

Summary: I bought this as a gift as I have a pair these headphones myself. When I tried to register the product it appeared to have no serial number and when I called Bose themselves, they indicated that their products have serial numbers in 3 different places - in the earcup; on the warranty card and on the box. No serial number appeared on any of these locations on the item I was sent by Amazaon (Omni Ltd).
Summary: Bought for husband's birthday - he chose these headphones after careful research and really loves them. Says they are very good quality (they should be for that price). Quick delivery but despite being well packaged, the box was squashed and looked a bit shabby. I wouldn't have bought in that box if in store (not for well over £200) but at least the headphones themselves work and look good.
Summary: I should have known better but was attracted to the low price of these headphones. Amazon had sent me an email informing me of lower price so I was somewhat fooled and ordered straight away without checking previous reviews. It appears that this is not the first time fake headphones have been sold. The product was obviously cheap and nasty as soon as I handled them. A phone call to BOSE UK confirmed that they were counterfeit.
Well conceived but poorly executed [EDIT - they were fake]

Summary: [Turns out that the headphones were not genuine Bose - returned for a full refund with no fuss from Amazon] As with any headphones there are 4 key aspects: sound, comfort, features and build. Firstly sound: there are no two ways about it; the sound from these headphones is superb and the noise cancelling doubly so. I cannot fault these headphones for their sound quality. Secondly comfort: They are OK in this category; they are great for light use and seem to fit well.
Summary: good to have quiet environment and it was working great but it need to be improved for functioning as normal earphone which is working without battery just for listening music without noise cancelling function.
Summary: Even though they're expensive, these headphones are fantastic. Can't recommend them enough. Incredibly comfortable, and you're completely immersed when listening to music or gaming. When the noise cancelling is on, you can't hear anyone talking to you. They were bought to be used at home, so can't comment on the noise cancelling when out and about.
Summary: These earpads feel very comfortable, and are much superior in comfort to the cheaper alternatives available on this website. However, the advantages pertaining to comfort are heavily negated by the poor build quality and durability. After paying £300 for the original set of headphones, I would have not expected them to become so damaged in under a year.
Summary: After both my previous cushions wore out within a day of each other, I was left with the prospect of shelling out over 30 quid for replacements, or around 15 for non bose cushions. I'm glad I paid the extra and can recommend that choice to other people with the same reluctance to pay the full price. now my headphones are super comfy again and will last me another 4 years of heavy use.
