Excerpt: Do not buy these headphones unless you can manage to keep in EXCELLENT condition...or they'll break really easily. Do not twirl them. Do not have them out of their case for a long time. Do not wear them while exercising. You get the point.
Summary: These headphones sound great but the wire going into the headphones are so thin that they frayed within about 7 months of use. When you first get them you can tell that the wiring is extremely cheap and low quality. And definitely do not get them for gym use as they will fray even quicker!!
Summary: It's a shame that the tiny flimsy rubber coverings on the in-line control switch comes off (rips) with time under nornal use, making the volume controls useless, and exposing the switch cavity. I have two pairs of the Bose earphones. Both sets failed, and need I say how expensive they are? I am not buying these again.
Summary: This headset sounds wonderful if you are in a silent room, an anechoic chamber perhaps, however if you happen to be anywhere there is even a tiny bit of ambient noise then they simply do not work and the signature Bose sound is lost. The fit of the ear pads is terrible. I have average sized ears and not one of the supplied ear pads fit securely or comfortably in my ears. The button also often fails. I am on my second pair of ear buds after the first failed mysteriously.
Summary: These sounded ok for the short period of time that I had them. Just a few months after the warranty expired, the cable where it connects to the ear piece started to break apart. The model I had was the IE2's which are the same as the MIE2i from a construction standpoint so watch out for these as well. When I brought them in to the Bose store to have them look at them they said the the warranty expired 3 months ago and that I could replace them for $50.
Summary: Here is my review of these headphones from just about every aspect: Dislikes: 1) The sound quality was well below par, I thought Bose sound was supposed to be awesome =>NOT! No bass, ok mids and highs after tweaking my sound settings in the iPhone. They sounded a 100% better when I would push (not cram) them in my ear just a little. I tried every ear gel that came with this headset none worked for me. 2) Speaking of the ear gels, non of them would stay in my ear.
Summary: If you plan on using these to work out with then you must reconsider. Any amount of moisture will destroy the volume/track controls. For $130 you can buy something more durable. I've replaced mine twice already. Sound not noticeably good either.
Summary: Amazing sound, just like any Bose product. But for the first time I regret buying this. Only that after my 1st workout both the volume control and the mic packed up. After this episode, i exchange five times at the Bose store, and all of then repeat the same problem. I'm very disappointed with this Bose headset. My adivice, dont spend 30 bucks for the mic and volume control, buy the headphone that is 100$ and has the same great sound!
Summary: I have now gone through 4 yes 4 pairs of these in 6 months. In every case the remote unit failed. They sound superb but what's the point if the controls don't work? Gone back to my old Sennheiser set. they don't sound as good but at least they work!
