I use this to mix/master in my home studio as an alternative to my reference speakers. I have been using these headphones for the past 2 months. Here are my observations about DT 990 Pro. Design: DT 990 Pro are Rock-solid. I mean that literally. The headband is of actual steel. But yet comfortable enough to be worn whole day long without you realizing wearing it. The wire is flexible and long enough - a bit heavy if you are used to the light wire of street-style headphones. After a pair of DT 550's in the late 80's (stolen...boo) I went through a variety of headphones without ever finding anything so satisfactory again. Budget Sennies are great but their more expensive cans don't seem much better - and tend to be very uncomfortable due to too much pressure. So eventually it was back to Beyer and the DT990s.
