  • Conclusion: I bought these headphones for my grandson who is a studying to be a sound engineer in LA. He absolutely loves them. The price I paid for them was also great.

  • Summary: The 880s are probably the best deal in headphones out there. They are truly high end and walk a perfect line between accuracy and musicality. Build and comfort are top notch a well. After listening to these you start to realize how coloured almost all other phones are and they truly embarrass most sub-$2000 loudspeakers. I cannot recommend these highly enough.

Reference class headphones...one of the best!

  • Summary: I have been using these fantastic DT 880 Premium Edition headphones for a while now, mostly for professional mixing use. I got the 250 ohm version as I am running them off my Apogee Symphony interface, which has two headphone outputs. They make a pretty good combo, though not the most perfect match. A dedicated HP amp would be better.

Great sounding, very comfortable but not for portable audio.

  • Summary: Superb sound, but need a proper headphone amp to get the best from them. Don't even try to run them from your iphone etc without something else in the line as they won't even get loud enough. Work well with a valve headphone amp (for the fellow geeks out there I use a homemade Starving Student amp and a Schiit audio DAC). I'd love to be brave enough to try running them of the speaker terminals of my power amp, but haven't tried yet.

" Fantastic pair of headphones, my most used piece of audio equipment "

TreDay, Audiofanzine

  • Excerpt: I first purchased these almost 5 years ago and they've been my "daily driver" since then. One of the most important aspects I was looking for in a set of headphones was comfort. Prior to these, I owned a pair of Grado SR60is and while they were okay sound quality wise, there were murdering my ears. I wear headphones for hours a day, so I wanted something very comfortable. The DT880s fulfill that desire.

Excellent sound, Very comfortable, fatigue free, Highly recommended.

  • Summary: I bought these 'phones for 'easy and relaxed listening' and found them to be excellent - these ones are the 250 ohm version as this is easier to mate up with different head-amps - I have not found any significant difference in sound to the 600 ohm version, apart from the amplifier loading. I have rewired these with Ohno crystal silver cables with 4 pin mini XLR connectors (balanced) for better detail and drive and I prefer the result to the newer T series headphones.
