Conclusion: If you want Star Trek styling, these aren't the headphones for you. And
if you're shepherding your pennies, it's not hard to find headphones that
cost half as much as the DT 880s, and certainly aren't only half as good.
Summary: The DT 880 PRO is a very well balanced performer that offers neutral tonal balance, an enchantingly “pure” sound, and a measure of clarity that falls only a few clicks short of the performance of the best $500 models. But plan on buying a gutsy headphone amp if you want to hear these ’phones sound their best.
Summary: If you like lots of high-frequency sparkle from
your headphones, the Beyerdynamic DT 880s may be just the ticket. Similarly, if your
headphone amp has rolled-off highs, the DT 880s could compensate. However, matching
strength with weakness is the wrong way to create a satisfying playback system. You want
good-sounding components across the board, not good sound mixed with mediocre or bad.

Excerpt: Well, that's a few days I have this headphone and it amazes me. I compared it to my other Beyer and I admit that it is of absolute neutrality, never heard anything like this, everything is well balanced (low-mid-treble), precise, nuanced, fast, dynamic, and a good stereo and more. If his play is special because it is dedicat...
