Excerpt: Sound quality is excellent when driven from a portable player. Perhaps a bit bass heavy, but completely to my liking. I haven't found anything that I like better that's anywhere close to the price, and then, you're spending money on external amps, DACs, and so forth. So yeah, you can definitely get better, but it's not incrementally more, it's like "house payment" more.
Pros: Comfortable, Good Bass, Good Value, Great Sound
Summary: If you're like me you buy headphones with the intent of putting them through the wringer. I wanted headphones that would enable me to listen to music, watch TV/movies and play video games as much as I pleased. I scoured forums, marketplaces and even blogs to find a pair of headphones that were truly balanced, comfortable, durable and discrete. The Beyerdrynamic DT770 Pro L.E.
Pros: Near perfect spectrum and stage, durable, comfortable, great for discrete night use.
Cons: Velour pads are a must, some may find the cord too short
Excerpt: My first job was in radio, and like the headphones I used there, these headphones really surround the ear well. They eliminate more background noise, at some frequencies than my active noise canceling ones do. They are extremely comfortable to wear and off amazing sound, from top to bottom.
Excerpt: I recently lost my in ears due to an unfortunate accident so I decided it was time for cans. I also started mixing in headphones because of unfortunate mix times in our apartment. I have focal cms 40's and are exceedingly pleased with them. So logically I wanted to try the focal spirits. I did. I was underwhelmed. They were very uncomfortable, stiff, and didn't blow me away with sound.
Excerpt: I use this product for listening to music, movies & mixing audio. Very comfortable and great low end response. A bit pricey but if you are looking for professional quality sound and build these are a great starting point.
Excerpt: I use these for detail listening of classical CDs and my own recorded classical guitar tracks. They may not be the best headphone out there, but for the price their quality is second to none. Dependable, and they don't mislead your ears. They are very comfortable but a little heavier than many brands.
Pros: Clear Sound, Comfortable, Confortable, Durable, Easy To Use, They Tell The Truth
Cons: A Little Heavier Than Som, Little Heavier Than Some
Excerpt: These headphones are as comfortable with prolonged wear as my Sennheiser HD650, even while wearing glasses. The closed nature of the headphones allows for reasonable sound isolation from both directions at moderate volumes, with very good overall sound quality. It can be adequately driven from my plain ole' iPhone 5 and my PC headphone jack without an amplifier (in spite of 250 ohm rating) with decent enough volume for my tastes (a modest amp did not appreciably improve...
Excerpt: I use the DT 770s with my laptop and with my iPod 5G running Rockbox, for that extra volume boost that's needed with these. Make no mistake, these are very tough to power for most mobile devices; cell phones and stock iPods are a no-go. I was put off at first by the comments about how inaccurate they are, that they are too bass heavy and aren't good for studio use. I get that, they aren't reference headphones.
Pros: Clear Sound, Durable, Easy To Use, Great soundstage, Lightweight
