DT 770The Beyerdynamic DT 770s are a good set of headphones. They really aren’t a lot different from the other headphones in the series, offering better than average audio quality and Beyerdynamic’s MANUFAKTUR customization service. While MANUFAKTUR can be very expensive, it’s an interesting service we wish more headphone manufacturers would embrace. Read more

While there is a trace of the midrange coloration that tends to plague closed 'phones as a species, it is kept to a very low level and we thoroughly enjoyed listening to a range of music. As hinted above, bass is admirably strong but not overemphasised, and there is plenty of detail on offer across the band. I am a little surprised at the uncritical expert reviews. I have a pair of light-weight headphones by Panasonic which have crystal-clear sound and which leave these, eight times more expensive, in the shade. The sound is OK but not wonderful. Whatever you are monitoring you can listen at a VERY comfortable level and still hear your kit! Just tell your sound guy to bleed the kit into your mix and life is beautiful. Read more

They are about 7 years old and have logged a many thousand hours of listening; on musical material from Jazz, R&B, Funk, Classical and a host of stage performances, with no excesses of sonic input to threaten the electronics.
