Summary: I would like to acknowledge that I'm actually reviewing T51i model of these headphones - identical to T51p with addition of in-line remote/mic. I received these for review purpose from Beyerdynamic, and these should be available for sale any day now (considering this review was written on 4/21).
Though I enjoy a comfort of big over-ear headphones, those are not always practical on the go with your portable audio setup of either smartphone or DAP.
Pros: high quality sound, excellent bass performance, solid build, very comfortable fitment, in-line remote/mic
Cons: no detachable cables, slightly recessed mids
Summary: Hi. I've been looking everywhere for reviews for the new T51p and couldn't find much out there. So got them anyway and thought I'd share my thoughts. I have with me the T51p, B&W P3, Momentum on ear and Momentum over ear. First, I am going to discount the P3. It just didn't compete with the others with what I perceived to be veiled vocals and poor separation. I also didn't like the Momentum on ear's too much and didn't find them too comfortable.
Pros: Superb headphones with balanced sound and good PRAT
Cons: Cable is a little annoying and it's not the best looking
Sturdy metal body, held together by cheap plastic.

Summary: I absolutely adore the sound of these headphones, however the cheap black plastic clip that holds the adjustable plate to the headband just broke... I hadn't even noticed it was plastic until this happened. I was simply adjusting it down on my head and it came apart... no excessive force was used.
Summary: I find that I have let them run for around 45mins before the sound warms up. Overall the T51p only goes in to the deep bass when it is present in the music as oppose to induced bass. The treble is not too harsh as I'm coming from audio technical es7, but my major annoyance is the cable as it tangles and as you can't remove the cable is really bugs me.
Summary: Ok headphones, and whilst quality is near the B&W P5 headphones, these are definitely less transparent and more 'coloured' (define mid tone boost). Quality is mediocre, and aluminium end cap fell off when received....just a ring of double sided sellotape holding it on! Closed ear is good though and blocks noise.
Beyerdynamic T51p Headphones - thoroughly recommended - do yourself a favour if you need new headphones of good quality.

Summary: Absolutely superb headphones - perfect for the daily commute. Although they're not officially noise cancelling or reducing, the headphones clamp firmly enough to certainly keep the bulk of the outside world noise away. Sound quality is undoubtably the best I've *ever* had in headphones - I immediately noticed a considerable difference in quality, sharpness, clarity and richness of sound when compared to my earlier headphones.
